All language subtitles for THWF - April 2023 Kit - Wild Flower Bouquet

And this evening on Bellflower News,
we will be making a wildflower bouquet.

That was dumb.

So we are actually going to work on this
wild flower bouquet.

We're going to slide this beauty
into frame.

I am dreaming of spring

and what not better way is to pretend
that it's spring already with wildflowers.

And I love wild virus
and I love big fields of flowers

and just picking up random stuff
and making a bouquet.

So that was kind of where
this bouquet was inspired.

And I am going to walk you through
how to make every single

one of these flowers today.

So buckle up and get ready for some flower
making fun time.

Okay, so

we are going to start with the Primrose,
and I will tell you why in a second here.

we're going to go ahead and get started.

And I am going to tell you a little cheat
sheet on how to get started

with all of these.

So down below in my description,

I will have links to the PDF patterns

to print all of these patterns
on to freeze their paper.

Some of them will have SVG use.

I think all of them pretty much can be as.

Sometimes more

hand cut crazy flowers.

You can't make into an SVG
because and that let me just back up there

in SVG file would be for your silhouette
cameo or your cricket maker.

You can't quite make those into files
because they're just like, Yeah,

the machine just can't handle it.

Well, that's when these handy
dandy freezer paper stencils come in handy

so that you can cut all your flower
petals out by hand

and make them look basically the same
every single time.

She's going to take the guesswork
and the frustration out of like,

Oh, I cut that wrong.

we're going to take a little bit of fault
here.

This is in my parchment color.

This is just a primrose pattern
that I created here.

take our iron and on high cotton

with the steam
off, lay the shiny side down

and melt that shiny wax down a bit.

So that way it sticks
and kind of like soft glues to our felts.

Make sure you're doing it on a heat

safe surface and not your cutting mat,
because I'll tell you from experience,

you will melt them.

We're going to get rid of that bad boy
and we are going to go use our fancy

long shears here
and just cut the shape out.

And it is as simple as just following

the lines.

So I'm going to come back

and get that corner

just because it's from this direction.

It's just a little hard to get it.

So we're going to do a first cut
and then a second

cut here.

like so.

And I love using these big long scissors
because it just gives a really nice,

long, clean cut.

So we're just going to go back in and cut

these little

corners off here to

Okay.

So once you have the stencil on there,
cut out.

All you do is, oops, don't rip it.

If you do rip it, you can't raise it

and just gently pull it off.

And then you've got a nice piece of felt

cut out is perfect every single time.

since we cut our primrose out, we're going
to go ahead and start with our primrose,

but we're going to be making a lavender,
a black eyed Susan.

We have a forget me, not a billy ball

and a small daisy here
and then a eucalyptus.

So we're going to start
with our primrose here first.

And in this book I've got three of them.

right now I'm just going to show you one.

But just if you wanted
to duplicate this book.

Exactly, you're going to do three.

And then also,
if you want to make all of this

and you want all the materials

and fineness, stick around till the end
and I will I'll talk about how you can get

it all. Okay.

So we're going to take this green felt
here.

Now we're just going to take
a really small little square.

I'm talking
like maybe a half inch by half inch

little square here

and we're going to just kind of round
off these corners just a little bit.

Does not have to be perfect at all.

I mean, look at that shape.

It is not a perfect circle Not a perfect
any stretch of the imagination,

Okay, so we're going to get an 18
gauge wire here.

Last I felt and we are going to apply
a little bit of glue

to that.

Be careful with that because this glue
is hot in your small piece

and we're going to fold it over our wire
and kind of just

I'm literally just pinching it
and twisting

right here.

And that's going to make
just kind of like this little bug shape

right on the end.

Okay.

So the next thing we're going to do is
this is a very, very pale, pale yellow.

And I it's straw color
and then I'm going to go ahead and cut

just a snippet off of that.

And this is

where my lines really suck today.

Two by one inches.

I'm probably

not going to use the full length of this,
but I like to have more than I need.

And then trim off
excess than not have enough.

Okay, So now we're going to do really,
really long, really,

really thin little snips

with our snip scissors.

And we're going to go in

as we can without being too thin
that they're going to break off.

And I'm going about three quarters
of an inch in and about a quarter

inch is left untouched.

One more snip.

Okay.

And this is going to be kind of
like our frill stamens on the inside.

Okay.

So now we're going to do
is we're going to attach it here.

So we're going to fan it as we go.

This is probably enough
for at least two of them.

So I'm going

to put a little bit of glue on the bottom

and then I'm going to put my little bud

right at the base
where my cut line stopped.

And I'm going to really, really tightly

roll it around here

like so.

And then we're going to trim off this
excess

and it's about right here.

So, yeah, I've got all of this extra
from a two by one inch piece

so you can use this
probably for the other two, to be honest.

but that is your center.

And if you really pinch that base
underneath that little Bud piece,

that's what's going to allow those frills
to kind of, like

spread out and open instead of
just being like really closed off.

So it just gives you
a nice little opening there.

So now we're going to take our wire
and just twist it

right in between our petal to it

kind of just makes a hole
and then bring it to the top.

Okay.

So we're going to put a little bit of glue
here right at the base of one

petal here,
kind of kind of pinch it and bring it up

the center of the flower.

And we're going to do that.

This was just too long for me right now,

and it is getting in the way,
so get rid of it.

So we're going to do the same thing
all the way around,

just kind of pinch and push up

pinch and push up.

Then the last one

and then our center
kind of got a little smushed over.

So I'm just going
to bring those back in center.

Now you can leave your flower like this.

But I'm going to show
you two different ways to make it

just a little bit more fun.

one way is to grab your pliers.

You can do this with your fingers, too.
I like the pliers.

It just gives a better grip
and saves my finger a little bit.

And you're just going to kind of grab
the paddock, pull and twist,

and that's going to kind
of give it a little bit more

dimension and

just character in your petal like.

So first, so you can see the difference
between this one and this one.

Another way to do it is
I have this little mini

hair straightener that I like to use
and I just grip and pull

and twist with a little bit of heat
and then it does the exact same thing.

So you can do this with your fingers.

You could do this with pliers.

You can or you can just leave it
the way it was without doing any of it.

So there you go. That's it.

That is your little primrose.

I've seen so many primrose
in different colors, too.

So I like to chose white because it just
felt like a nice earthy color in my book.

So I'm just going to go ahead
and add her in there.

All right, let's go ahead and get started
on our next flower, the lavender stem.

Okay.

So the lavender stem,
we're going to use six

of our small petals
and six of our large petals.

if you kind of see here, the smaller

petals are about an inch by an inch.

So if you're going to hand-cut these,
you're going to put

make a little inch square
and cut out four petals.

And then our larger one And then we're
going to do six of these larger ones.

And this is about one and a quarter
by one and a quarter,

and you're going to do five
different little petals for these.

And then one base piece,
and this is about an inch and a half

by an inch and a half
and do five petals as well for just

that like bottom
green capper piece on this one.

I also have a PDF template down below
for freezer paper

that you can just iron on
to a piece of it.

And then that way you can cut

all of the patterns out
perfectly each time if you want.

So link below for that.

We're going to go ahead
and put this on an 18 gauge wire.

I'm going to go ahead and
trim this a little bit here

and then

we can do this one of two ways
so we can feed on

each petal
individually by twisting them on

like so.

Or I also have this little flower pink,
which is like an all

and we can just go ahead
and make kind of pre

make our holes ahead of time
and then fish them on.

So I'm doing all of the small petals first
and then we're going

to get the larger ones
and then that base one,

I like to
just put them all on ahead of time.

Just makes things easier

girl a little better for you.

Okay.

All right.

So now you have this little bunch
of petals on your wire, and we're going to

just take one to the very,
very top without coming off the stem.

I've got a little bit of wire
still on there.

We're going to put a little bit of glue
right on that wire

and then fold our petals up. Oops.

Letting the pedal
fall down just like that.

And that'll be your top.

And then I'm going to take my next one
and put it right underneath,

put a little glue down
and then smush it back up, just like so.

And then I am really pushing
hard at the base of the flower right here.

just pinching that bottom so that
the pedals kind of flare out a little bit.

So we're going to bring up
another petal here

and we're not going to go
all the way to the top.

We're going to bring it down just a hair

and then put a little bit more glue
right in the middle

and then just fold it back up

and then we're going to keep doing it.

I'm doing two pedals

forever

for every little grouping here,
and I'm going to push right here.

So this one, I missed the little.

I missed the hole.

Somehow happened to me
more times than I like.

Anyways, I just snip it
and then do the same thing.

So no worries.

If that happens, it can be fixed.

You don't have to take
all your petals off.

All right,
I'm going to bring up another one.

Hold and pinch until our glue sets

and then keep going.

And I'm really,
really punching hard at the bottom.

So that requires these petals out

And I'm not putting a ton of glue either.

and left when in the screen one

we are going to put right at the bottom
of our last little bunch there.

there you go.

Cute little lavender stems.

I love these stems.

They make such a little impact
on all the bouquets.

Just give us a little bit of height
and just some deep colors as well.

And these are just one
of my favorite stems to add to Bookcase.

Okay, so for your wildflower bouquet,

you're going to go ahead
and make three of these total All right.

Next up,
we're going to make the little daily.

Okay, So we need this small daisy shape.

One foul ball in your 18 gauge wire,
so first thing we're going to do on

our daisy flower wire
is we're going to make a little table,

which is we're
going to make a little hook,

make a circle,

bend it up

down to make a table.

Okay.

And we're going to fish that through
the center of our flower panel here.

And this is kind of like a really, really,
really pale pink.

I'm going to bend it
so I have a little bit more space here.

We're going to put a little bit of glue
right

at the base of the petals
that are across from each other.

And then go ahead and fold

and let those petals just set

so that it just kind of gives them
a little bit of dimension and some fun.

Nobody likes a boring daisy.

I'm going to go ahead and keep going here,
and we're going to do this

all the way around you
one pedal at a time.

That's fine.

I like to do too, because I am
an impatient person and I want.

I don't like waiting.

If you get a little too much glue

on your pedals and it kind of comes out
when you pinch them,

just grab your little snip scissors
and just cut that off.

All right.

Almost done.

Super, super easy on this beauty.

All right.

So we're going to kind
of open it up a little bit.

We're going to put a little bit of glue
right in there center.

And from all the pinching,

it kind of makes a little dome shape
and it has a little hole in the middle.

And then we're
just going to throw our little foul ball

right down in the middle,
kind of open up our petals and

there you go.

Cute little mini
daisy for your wildflower bouquet.

so for the wildfire

bouquet,
you're going to make two of these in total

for your bouquet,

I wanted to pause real quick
and let you know that

All right, let's get back into it. okay.

So now we are going to go ahead
and move on to our forgive me not.

Okay.

So we're going to need
three of these shapes here.

We need a strip of yellow felt
and this is a quarter of an inch wide.

And it's about

I mean, I've already cut off of this one,

so I usually make them about six inches
long and then just, like, have extra

and then trim it.

And then the same thing with the black,
it's about a quarter of an inch wide.

And then I'm going to cut it
into little squares

that are about quarter of an inch
by a quarter of an inch.

So let's get started on our centers first,
and then we'll move on to the flower

petals.

We need an 18 gauge wire
and then a 22 gauge wire.

I'm going to do this 22 gauge wire here,
and I'm just going to trim that.

What did I do it?

pretty dang close to six inches,
which is great.

So on this wire, I'm just going to bend
So you're going to go ahead and make a

loop on one end of your wire.

Now, we're
going to get two of our pedals here

and we're going to go ahead
and fish these on.

And I'm just twisting against the felts
to create a hole.

And then we're going to go ahead
and now make another loop

because we're going to kind of

lock these two flowers in and we're going
to have a flower on each end of this.

now we're going to make our little butt
ends.

We're going to take our black
and we're going to cut about a quarter

of an inch here.

We're going to cut about three of them

We're going to go ahead and take this

little square, put some glue on there,

put it right on
top of our little loop de loop,

and we're just going to fold it
over and make a little bud.

I'm just pinching it and just rolling it.

So we have this little black

one that's kind of like
a little black ball right on the ends.

So we're going to do this on both sides

just pinching, folding
and then twisting it around

as that glue sets
to make a little ball on the top.

now we're going to take our yellow felt
here.

we can wrap it and just leave it.

And just like this is a straight line,
or we can get these really,

really fun pinking shears
that that are a scalloped edge.

And these are very,

very small scallops, links below
for these scissors in my description.

And then we can just kind of
be very close to the edge,

cut these little scalloped edge
on this flower.

Totally optional, but it looks better.

so now we're going to go ahead
and add a little bit of glue.

Probably no more about a quarter
of an inch to like a half an inch here.

And we're going to wrap it right around

our little black bud here.

And now I'm going to kind of
just like put my finger

and it's going to end right there.

And I know I'm going to snip it
right here.

So now it's not obviously
all the way around.

We're just going to get a

little bit of glue
and then just close that little guy up.

Oops.

And then pinch it shut just like that.

All right. I'm going to go ahead and trim

the little blue mess on the end
there, too.

Okay.

So we're going to do the exact same thing
on the other side. I'd

So now we're going to go ahead

and put some glue on the board

and then bring our flower to the top here.

We're going to do this on both sides.

And we're literally
just repeating ourselves.

The next thing we're going to do
is we're going to take our scissors.

We're going to go in each
little one of these little valleys

on our petals, and we're going to cut
all the way to our center.

All right.

We're going to take a little bit of glue
at the base of each paddle.

I like to do this one at a time.

A little glue fold.

And then also at the same time
you're folding, you're going to push it

up against that center yellow part,

and you're going to want to do this
and you're going

to want to put a little bit of extra glue
because you kind of

this is the point where you actually want
the glue to kind of

get you out of your pinch a little bit
because you want that glue

to hold that tip,

that flower petal onto the yellow center.

And we're just going to hold this
till it all set and go all the way around.

All right.

And so that is your little

forget forgetting flower.

So we're going to go ahead
and do the exact same thing on this side,

and then we're going to go ahead
and do the exact same thing on one

and of our 18 gauge wire.

Okay,

So we have a flower
on each side of this wire.

And then one flower
at the end of our 18 gauge wire.

all we're going to do is we're going
to go ahead and cross the U.S.

and I'm holding really, really tight.

And I'm just really tightly wrapping this.

You want it as tight as you can
because you don't want them falling or

getting loose and sliding down your wire.

All right.

So I just did it quite a few times.

And then I'm actually

this is the fun part with wires,
just like just kind of bend them

in different ways.

Like, don't be kind of locked into
just making straight lines and wires

and I'm just kind of, you know, giving it
some nice little some some shape

So this is the beginning of STEM.

we are going to make two of these total
for the wildfire book.

Okay.

So the next stem that we're going to do
is the billy ball stem.

So this one is probably the easiest flower
that you will ever make.

So we're going to take one foul ball.

This is a 25 millimeter foul ball.

You can I have all these linked down
in my shop to if you need some foul balls.

These are all handmade
and I love these small balls.

They all come from Nepal
and they're just awesome.

So I'm using an all right now, and I am
just carefully stabbing it and twisting

inside the ball just to kind of open it up
and make a hole for our wire to go.

So now we have just kind of a hole here.

I'm going to throw in some glue

and then just slide our wire
and just twist it down into the hole.

We made.

And that's it.

That is your billy ball stem.

And then with these lines, I kind of like
to just have fun with it and bend it and

just make it a little bit more interesting
than just a wire with the ball on it.

So this just gives it a little bit
more character for your book.

then you're going to go ahead and do three
of these for your wildflower bouquet.

So the last flower for the wildfire
bouquet that we're going to do is be black

eyed season.

Okay, so what we need for
this one is we need a black foul ball.

This is one team. Mm. Ball.

We need a little strip of black, which is.

This is about three inches
by a quarter inch.

We need one little leaf base.

And this is about an inch and a quarter
by an inch and a quarter.

And these oval petal shapes,
we need eight of them.

this part is not required at all.

But to elevate your black eyed Susans
to make a little bit better,

I am going to use a little bit of some pan
pastels.

This is the orange color that I'm using.

And I'm
just going to take these petals here

and just with the little sponge,
throw some orange down on one end

and I'm not going all the way.

I'm probably going
a third of the way up on my paddle.

And this just kind of gives the flower
just a little bit of something.

Some.

So if you don't have pan pastels,

another really great option
to use is makeup and eye shadow.

I'm sure that bright neon orange
is probably

not a staple color
that you have in your eyeshadow.

Okay, so what I like to do is
I like to get one of those really big

super cheap eyeshadow kits that have
all of the super crazy colors on them

and they work super great
and they're super cheap

and you get like eight bucks,
you get like 30 colors

versus like $8 for one of these
and you get one color.

Crayola markers
just regular pastel sticks, chalk,

All of those things work
really really good coloring your felt

just kind of definitely
makes your flower pop a little bit more.

So we have over our petals now
we're going to take our little black strip

and we are going to just cut really,
really fine small snippets.

I'm going about halfway down.

Just because this is such
a thin piece of belt,

you really don't want to go any thinner
or further down than like half way

or you don't want to accidentally
go through all the way through

or just make the piece just very fragile
that's going to fall apart easily,

can go

all the way around and put that down now.

Okay, so this part is a little bit tricky,
in so just bear with me here.

We're going to cut this ball in half.

Also, fun fact about these four balls.

They're all made by hand.

So it's been really kind of fun
cutting these in half because

the center is not necessarily black.

So I am very careful.

We've slowly cutting this one in half.

And as you can see,
this one was filled with like a

like a tan felt first as a base,
and then they added the black on top.

So it's always fun.

You're like, if it's like,
what are those gob stoppers?

You're like, You never know
what's going to come on the inside.

so the next thing you're going to do,
we have half of our foul ball.

We're going to go ahead
and put just a little bit of glue

around the very bottom flat edge.

And we're going to apply our strip with
the fringe side facing towards the dough.

So we've got our fringe coming up here,

and then we're just going to go ahead
and glue

all the way around

our flower center

like that.

So this is our center.

And then you can kind of layer
it a little bit now if you want.

the next thing we're going to do
is I'm going to flip it over.

And this is the part you have to pay
attention to if you colored your petals

because you want to make sure
that your orange is coming

from the center
and not accidentally on the outside.

I mean, mind you,
that would still look really cool.

But that's not
what we're going for right here.

So we have our bottom of our flat circle

here, and we're going to put
kind of a cross of glue.

And I'm putting a generous amount here.

We're going to make sure our orange
is coming from the center

and then go right down the middle here.

And then we're going to put our petals
right on top of that glue just like that.

Now we're going to do it again, but
we're going to do our cross right between

our other petals,

take our orange

clothing

Just you.

So this is basically our flower.

So far.

so our next step is we're going to go
ahead and grab one of our 18 gauge wires,

just like all of the other flowers we did.

We're going to make that same little table

like.

So we're going to take our flower base

and weed it through

going to put some glue

on our green base here

and then go ahead and put it right down

onto our flower.

I like to kind of line

the green up with the yellow petals
so that it's not really poking through

on the reverse.

You can't really see it,

which is going to make that's clear.

You're like,
But Lisa, your flower is flat.

It is not curved like the one in the book.

Well, let me show you how I do that.

Okay, we're going to take our super cheap
$10 mini hair

straightener and crank this sucker on.

We're going to go ahead.

And I'm taking two paddles at the time
and literally just curling them down.

And that heat just makes them curl
so beautifully.

Now, if you don't have a curling iron,

I'm holding really tight.

You can pull and kind of bend
and it'll do the same thing.

It just takes a little bit of manipulation
with your hands and whatnot to just

get that shape
and kind of bend it like that.

So it is not a deal breaker
to have the curl or the hair straightener.

It's just I think it speed things up
and it helps things and there you go.

So now you're 5 hours curled.

So sometimes what I like to do on this
flower is hit it with a little bit of belt

fabric stiffen or just a hold

the shape a little bit
because they do get a little floppy.

But again, it's also not necessary.

Honestly, these flowers
are not really meant to be handled a ton.

So as long as you're not sitting there
and messing with them, they'll be fine.

All right.

So that is our Black-Eyed Susan.

And we're going to go ahead and make three
of these total for our wildfire book,

Next time we're going to work on
is our eucalyptus stem.

So this is the shape that we are using.

They're about an inch by two inches.

If you want a hand, cut it.

It's kind of like a rounded oval

on each side or link below
in the description to a PDF pattern.

That and an SVG
that you can cut these on a machine.

So I am using seven of these right now
and we're going to go ahead

and take our 18 gauge.

We're and then we are going
to feed these on to our wire.

so I am just using my fingers resistance

and twisting the wire
so that it goes through that center.

Felt there and I'm going to go
ahead and fish on all seven

of these leaves.

So now we're
going to go ahead and take our first one,

bring it to the top here, not all the way
at the top that it's going to fall off.

And we're going to put a little bit
of glue right at that tip by that wire.

And we're going to pinch and hold
both of those together

and just hold it until that glue sets and
then go ahead and then do the next one.

So we're going to bring our next panel,
our leaves up.

We're going to do
probably about an inch lower,

but a little bit of glue down.

And then this is where it kind of
gets a little bit tricky.

But I'll hold this and kind of flip this

and fold it on itself like that.

But that sets

in, keep going all the way down

And that's it.

That is how you make a fun

little eucalyptus stem.

And you're going to go ahead
and make two of these for your wildfire.

Okay? Oh really.

We are going to work on our last piece
for this book.

Give yourself a high five

that you've gotten this far
and let's go ahead and finish them up.

So this last piece
is this little green leaf here.

And so I have nine of these leaf

petals, you can easily cut these by hand
or link below for a PDF template

or a SVG on cutting these on your machine
as well.

super easy leaf stem.

We're just going to go ahead
and do the leaf pinch technique.

If you want to get creative
with your leaves, change it up, whatever.

I've got a whole nother video
on different ways to make that leaves.

So we're just going to apply glue to
the base and pinch that bad boy on there.

All right.

So this is the part
that gets a little can get

tricky, is we're going to put
a little bit of glue on the base

the same way,
but we're going to pinch it onto the side.

So I'm literally laying it against there
pinching and then I'm rotating it out.

And it's totally fine
that there's glue here

because that's going
to get covered up by our next leaf.

So we're going to do the exact same thing.

We're going to add some glue.

I'm going to put a flat here,
pinch and rotate out and that's it.

That is all we're doing.

So we're going to go ahead and do this
a few more times

and then you can make this leaf as long
as you want for this, for this leaf.

I'm doing six leaves You can keep going.

The other one is nine
But apparently I cut enough for the video.

So for yours, just do one more row.

All right, So that's it.

That is the leaf.

And then these are fun
because you can kind of

just twist and bend them
and then throw them in your wild barb.
