Let's do another shot for stumpies.

Let's give them something that they
weren't expecting.

White line, black line.

Let's put that aside let's limit
ourselves in the amount

of choices.

We have

a couple lights,

a single surface, no background.

What can we do with something simple?

Something

that gives a bit of an environment, a
sense of, where am I?

I want to join those people.

I want to have that

sense of place and get that little bit
of desire in.

So one way is to go really macro.

Let's do that with two lights.

I'm going to limit myself

one monoblock with a reflector

and a grid.

And that needs something for the label.

And we're just going to go with our

staple,

which is the visi tech, with that
little spotlight, because I love that

spotlight effect on it.

On the label.

It's kind of what I gravitate towards.

So let's go without.

Let's do something really simple and
really different.

Now,

obviously, I put this out here.

I kind of know where I want to go with
this.

I don't know where my settings are

at.

The great angle, it's a good angle.

It needs a little work.

I've got cross shadows, and I don't
like, I've got too much coming from the

foreground, and not enough coming from
the background.

So the first thing I want to do, I want
to take this down.

This is not right?

Yeah, give me a good.

What's that on?

Wow.

Do that.

At least

that's got interest.

So here's what I like about this.

It's really quite simple.

I've got

a concentration

for my eye.

I've got a place for it to go to.

Light's coming from up here.

Again.

I don't want it to be hot in the wrong
spot.

I wanted to be right on the label, and
I wanted to be left reading and going

across to the right.

I want a bit of interest coming in
through the bottle.

It doesn't quite have the glow I want,
but there's some interesting hits that

are happening.

So

maybe let's play with this a little bit
more.

I talked about

expensive ice, good ice, investing in
it.

And what if we don't use it?

What if you don't have

good ice?

Let's try realize

awesome.

Ok.

So this is realized.

This is from a place called Chicago
ice.

They actually make pretty decent ice.

It costs nothing.

So let's give it a whirl.

I do believe in investing in good ice

when it comes to cryak ice.

You want good stuff.

But

if you can't access it,

what do you do?

So here are a couple things to know
about real ice.

Obviously, it melts quickly.

Anything below the liquid line is going
to dissipate rather quickly.

If you were to

put a little liquid in there and pull
it out, in a couple of minutes, it's

going to look like a mushroom, meaning
the bottom side is going to really just

be eaten away.

It just goes pretty quickly.

So

you definitely have to move

in a hurried fashion.

You have to be crazy.

Real ice, too, is really frosty when it
comes out.

It just has that white, glazy look.

So if you're going to pour liquid on it,

cover it all

so you don't have a variance.

So it's even.

That was, two ounces.

We'll see what that looks like.

We're going to have to go fast just to
see where we are.

We totally know it anymore.

Get me, not a couple ounces when

I think, yes, it's too bad.

So one thing about realize, too, that's
great,

and you can get it.

That's good.

So if you look at the difference
between these two shots, the ice is

moving really quickly, it's completely
changing.

Everything inside the glass is changing
rapidly.

So there's just a spot

where ice is going to go.

You can't fight it.

So rotate your glass.

Glass has got

a variance in its thickness.

So real ice is going to move into that
spot.

Good.

Ooh, thank god.

Look at that.

This is great.

And that's great.

Let's get the background.

Want to get a little on that edge.

So good from camera.

And if you're to try taking it

from the other side,

take a refraction through.

Man, that's a really

pretty shot down here.

So all that's happening on the right

As you're getting a reflection up into
it, you're not getting a refraction

through it.

So you can catch it that way.

actually, really happy with this.

There are a couple things I want to
change.

We've got it blowing out just a little
bit.

That's a pretty simple shot.

It's a couple of cocktails, a surface,
a couple of lights.

That's it.

That's really all we needed.

To me,

there's a bit of drama going on
delight.

We pulled everything in close,

so the light has a dramatic effect.

There's not a tawn of light out here.

It's simple.

It's clean, it's dramatic.

I think stumpuse is going to like this.
