all those wavy melodies and everything like that

that's my comfortable song

that's a song that

even after I was done making it here

I just wanted to continually listen to

because I love it

and I think it'll actually turn itself into a real song

one day today

we're gonna do something a little bit different

for real always told me this

you want to go outside of your comfort zone and I

it's you know

kind of like

what does that mean

it's such a ambiguous statement

but I think what he meant is

make a song that you don't necessarily

that you wouldn't necessarily listen to

or a song maybe with elements

sonic elements

that you dislike strongly

for example

I dislike songs that

um maybe cause I'm like

a really happy person

I just like songs that are very whiny

uh it's just my personal taste

I dislike songs that don't have drums in them

let's see no drums

sound whiny

sound lyrically whiny

um are a bit overly narcissistic

in a way I mean

we all have to have a certain amount of narcissism

to be artists and producers and what not

but when it's

like overloaded

I just will not listen to it

and I think the goal today

for us is to make a song that we really

truly don't like

but in turn

what you're doing is

you're relaxing your mind a little bit

this unused portion of your mind is going to be used

and I have a sneaking suspicion

that I may end up liking this song a little bit

if you see me cringe face a lot

I probably will stop cringe facing a little after

um I get the first course

I don't know

um but the goal right now is to make a song that

you don't like

so I'm thinking about what that could be right now

so there's two uncomfortable aspects going for me

um disregard drums

like you could

want to make a

say you don't like reggae music

make a reggae song

you might shock yourself

I mean I'm shocking myself here

because I thought I was gonna use really basic chords

but I kind of trip myself out

because I really like the na na

na na na um

that turned out to be the tag of the chorus

so make your reggae song

make your rock and roll song

make your jazz

smooth jazz pop song

whatever you wanna make

make your pop song

maybe you don't like pop music

make something that you don't care for

and you might trick yourself into liking it

um this is just another way to open our minds up

when we're being creative

you can use this method when you're

when you have some writer's block and

uh you can't come up with anything new

um so now is the time
