welcome to another video of our Click Finals training

and in this video I like to walk you through the

process of setting up a custom domain

so what exactly is a custom domain

whenever you create a funnel within click funnels

I'll just use this as an example

you'll notice that the domain

associated to this funnel will always be your username

followed by the branding of click funnels

what that means is

if you'd like to give a link to your customers

or your audience to access your website

this is actually the link

that you need to provide to them

in order to access the page

so this link looks pretty messy and not as professional

what you want to be doing is setting up a custom domain

so that you'll be able to have

a domain that looks like this

so this is our game changer intensive funnel

once we've hooked it up with the custom domain

you'll be able to have a nice and clean domain

just like this game changerintensive com

so in this video

that's what I like to walk you through

and the first thing you need actually

is the domain name

which I believe

you've already created during the pre training process

if you'd like to go ahead and purchase a brand new one

that's fine as well

the process

will always be the same in setting up a custom domain

unless click funnels changes

they are processed in the future

the company that we use for

to register domain name is called Name Cheap

you can use Godaddy or any other domain name registras

it's up to you

the other new thing that I like to introduce to you

is this platform called Cloud Flare

so this service actually is

serves as a hosting bridge

that allows you to connect your domain to click funnels

and set that custom domain process up

I know this sounds very technical

and if this is your first time setting it up

it might take um

you know some time

but you always be the same

and once you've got this down

once you be able to replicate it for your other domains

so let me just walk you through the process

and here we go

first thing first

go ahead to Cloudflare com

and sign up for a brand new account

oh and this is a free service

not to worry

sign up for an account

and I've already signed into my account right here

so once you've signed into your account

what you want to do is click

the add site button on the top right corner

so for the purpose of this video

I'm just going to use one of my test domains

so first things first

I'll add the domain to Cloud Flare

so it will take some time to verify this domain

and you know

go through this process of processing and verification

so just give it some time

okay so you can see here that

they have already identified our domain

and they've got our DNS records ready

so if you're still confused at the moment not to worry

just click next

now what you want to do is select the free option

click Confirm Plan

click on confirm

okay so we've got the DNS page up

so there's just a couple of things

that you'll need to take note of

okay you can see that

there's quite a bit of things going on here

but not to worry

it might look different on your end

because perhaps you're using a different

Dominion registrar or

even if you're using name cheap

you know they might be different here

but what's most important here is No. 1

you have your C name with triple W

and your domain name as an alias

and that the cloud is orange

the next thing you need to do is remove any a records

that has your domain with it

and it's pointing to an IP server

so if you don't have this a record that's okay

if you do have it

go ahead and delete it

press okay

now the next thing is

you need to add a brand new ceiling

first things first

click this button here

click on ceiling

over here you want to type in your domain name

in my case triple I testonezerotwo.com

and over here

you want to type in target Clickfunnels com

so it's target Clickfunnels com

and make sure this is orange

and you click your add record button

okay so the two most important things again

triple W over here with an alias if you do main name

and your domain name here

with an alias of target clickfallens com

so what this does is it points to clickfallens com

so that you're able to

select that custom domain in click funnels in a bit

which I'll show you

once you've got that down click continue

okay so the next thing you'll need to do is

to change your name servers

so I believe you should be familiar with this

you've done this during your pre training

where you change the name servers

to host JL's name server

so if you still like to host your website on Host Jill

then make sure that it's pointing to

Host Jill's name service

so if you have a blogging website or a branding website

that you would like to point to Host Jill

you can leave it as that

and if you have a brand new domain

which you like to use on Clickfunnels

then you'll need to change the name servers to

these name servers here that are provided by Cloudflare

it's a very simple process

first things first

you want to log into your domain name register

I've already got mine logged in here

so what you want to do is go to your domain list

and identify the domain that you like to connect to

click funnels

so in my case

I've already got my domain here

what you want to do is click on manage

so that we are able to manage the domain

the next thing is you want to change these name service

so let me just copy this one

and I'll

just go back so I press copy over here

I remove this

press paste

same thing for this one copy this

and press paste

so that the name servers are pointing to Cloud Flare

so what you want to do is click save

and we're good so

note that the DNS server update may take up to 48 hours

it usually takes 24 hours

but on the safe side

you want to wait for one or two days

before making sure the L side is up on Cloud Flare okay

so the next thing you want to do is we've got this down

you want to click on continue

okay as you can see here

the website is not active as of yet

because we just changed the name service

but there's a couple more settings

that you'll need to go through

first thing is click on crypto

and make sure that this is set as full

sometimes by default it goes too flexible

but just want to make sure it's full

and just kind of ignore the rest of the features

it's just additional features

but we just want to focus

on setting up that custom domain

the next thing is the page rules

so there are many ways to set up a custom domain

and the reason we're using Cloudflare is because

it's the only way to have

the root domain set up

for example Triple I testonezerotwo.com

if we do not use Cloudflare

the domain that we're connecting to click funnels

it would be Triple W triple I testonezerotwo.com and

we always use Cloudflare

so that's why it's what we recommend as well

so the next thing you want to do is page rules

and create a page rule over here

and you want to type in your domain name

just follow their example here forward slash asterisk

so triple w

triple I test watch your 2 com for slash asterisk

the next thing you want to do is add a setting

pick a setting

choose the forwarding URL

status code choose 3 0 1 permanent redirect

and over here

this is just the forwarding rule that

you know if someone types in your path or root domain

and it will actually be redirected to your domain name

so triple w test 1 0 2 com

so what you're not typing here is https

your domaining.com

forward slash

doll assign one

so this may be confusing

if you're doing this for the first time

but if you follow the rules

you'll be able to have your custom domain up

on clickfunnels

what you do next click save and deploy

okay so we've got most of the settings done

on Cloudflare

you can always go back to overview to check

your name service

let's just give it some time to

if you're lucky

sometimes the domain may might be up really quickly

but usually takes 24 hours

so once you've done with name cheat with Cloudflare

the next thing you want to do is go into click funnels

on the top right corner go to domains

and this is where you add your custom domain

so press add new domain

so click funnels right now

allows you to register domains with them

they are kind of into the Dominion

Register business as well

but I always recommend getting it from being cheap

or go daddy because it's cheaper that it

I believe it's $20 on click funnels

but it's really up to you

if you like to have your domains and

funnels all centralized on the click funnels

go ahead and register a domain with them

but since we already have our domain name

click use and existing domain

and this is where you want to add your own domain

so one thing to note is

always remember to remove the triple w

and type in your site title directly

this is because

by setting up this way you have your route domain

and your forwarding page rule

that we've done just now where it has triple W

so you have the best of both worlds

um because in the future

when you promote your website in your videos

you you then have the ease of saying

go ahead and go to triple w testonezerotwo.com

and you don't have to say like

go ahead and go to WWW triple w testonezero.com

so this gives you the advantage of

using the root domain

so what you're gonna do next is click on add to me

so how to connect your domain to click funnels

so we've already done this step

if you follow the first part of the video

what you want to do is click I've done this step

okay great so

we have Triple W test 1 0

2 com connected

but it's still not ready for use as of yet

although it says here it's because

we need to wait for the DNS to propagate properly

that will take 24 hours so

what you can already go ahead and do

is associate the funnel

the domain name sorry

to the funnel that you like to connect it to so

let's say I connect it to the opt in funnel

and I click on associate funnel

okay so the next thing is to manage the custom domain

just a couple more things that you need to do No. 1

just click the domain

you can see different settings over here

what you want to do is set your default page

make sure that

it's connected to your funnel

the first step of your funnel

so in most cases

it will be the octane page or directly the sales page

if that's your first page

make sure this is connected to the first page as well

the same thing as your default page

and you could ignore this one

and one more important thing is called the

setting up the SSL for your custom domain

so one of the most important components

of an online business is creating a trusted environment

where potential customers feel confident

in making purchase through your site

so what the SSL certificate does

is create a foundation of trust

by establishing a secure connection

I'll give you an example so if you go to Paypal com

you'll be able to see that there's a lock over here

and the site is actually green in color

so that means that this site has already

installed the SSL certificate

and for any sites that have the certificate

it means that

you know you'll be able to trust that

information that you pass through this site

whether it's a credit card or payment details

it's in an encrypted connection

so it's safe and hackers won't be able to hack the site

so you can see websites like these

they are often encrypted

so you can do that as well

for your domain

what you need to do is just click on expand

and click on add SSL

okay

okay so the SSL process

will take 10 to 15 minutes

once that's set up

you'll be able to see that your website

will have SSL install

okay so that's really it for setting up a custom domain

the next thing you'll need to do

is just wait for the SSL to be installed

and the DNS for the website to be propagated

so in the meantime

I'll just go back into my funnel

and oh okay

you can already see that it's already taken effect

it's no longer that long

I'll just double check the settings

okay so you can see previously it's blank

but right now

you're able to select Triple I testonezerotwo.com

and in your case

it's any domain that you've associated with

but you can see that the setup here is not complete

for multiple reasons

it could be the domain has not been propagated

or the SSL certificate has not been installed as of yet

so while waiting for them to propagate

and be installed properly

perhaps I'll show you

how you can actually change the path name

of a domain name

so what that means is

for example

if you don't want it to be called

Optin sometimes you'll notice that there are these

characters at the back of your domain name

it's because Clickfunnels sometimes put

tracking or identifies behind it

it's just something Clickfunnels does

nothing to worry about

for example if I don't want it to be to be called Optin

I can do members just to show you an example

so that's the first place you want to make that change

the second place you want to make that change

is over here at this icon over here

make sure you change this as well

if you want it to be called members

click on update

let me do a quick refresh

doesn't seem to be taking place

okay so since we've already changed it

it looks like it's because

the domain has not been propagated properly

I'll just do a quick check

it might take a couple of hours

but I'll do

I'll give it a couple hours before I

I'll show you the end result

so be right back

okay and a couple hours later

what I did was I went into Cloudflare again

and I rechecked my name service

and then I can see that now my domain is active

and the next thing is

on clickfunnels

you can see that it now reflects as

a very clean domain

triple I testonezerotwo.comslashmembers

one thing I forgotten to mention is that

besides changing settings

the path limit settings over here

as well as the

settings over here as Memphis

you'll need to change it over at publishing as well

so what I did is I change it to Memphis

and it's now

this beautiful looking link over here

so the next thing is

just to double check if the SSL has been installed

you can see that it's already secure

it has that green lock here

sometimes it does not automatically update

what you need to do is come to SSL and click expand

and you'll see a yellow button that says

something like check domain now

click on that button

and then if you wait till it's installed

it will then be SSLS enabled for this domain

so I'll just go ahead and type in the domain

triple w 1 0 test 1 0 2

and there you go

you can see that it's secured because it has https

that means its SSL secure

and it's now not that ugly looking link anymore

so you can see that your customers can now

just go to Triple W test 1 0

2 com members

and you'll be able to access your page

okay so that's really it

for setting up your custom domain

just to recap

make sure you have a Cloudflare account

make sure you set up your

name service at your name chip

or Godaddy or any other domain register

change your name service

point it to Cloudflare and

so it eventually direct direct to click phones

right so we'll have screenshots and

guidelines below this video

just to help you to set this up

I know this video is a bit long

but once you've got this down

you be always be able to set it up

and have that beautiful looking domain

connected to your fellow
