one of the largest private investors in energy

green energy in Romania.

This is where our journey from
energy producer to consumer begins.

Our first stop on this

wonderful journey is, where else but in …
production

but not just any production, but green
energy production.

Daniel Tudoran, who is here with me,
will tell us about this.

Thanks for having me!

Daniel, this command center looks spectacular.
Can you tell me a bit more of what's going on here?

Here we can see the results of the work of all
our colleagues in Enel Green Power

and we can see, practically, how much power
we have now in production,

how many wind turbines we have
in production and

what we are producing at the moment.

We have 494 MW of installed wind power

and 36 MW of solar power at the moment.

Next year we will bring in new capacities

in solar energy, in fact photovoltaic energy.

We will practically double or more than double
the installed power in photovoltaics.

From 36 we will get somewhere
close to 100 MW

of installed power in the first
3 months of 2023.

Each individual monitor represents
a wind farm mainly,

because they are the largest
installed powers.

At the moment we can see that we have
about 295 MW of

active power.

Where does it say this, up there?

Yes, on the right side.

What is the biggest farm that
Enel Green Power currently owns?

The largest wind farm is

Târgușor 1

with an installed power of 120 MW

and Siemens turbines,

in Constanța county.

In Constanța, in Dobrogea.

The wind is stronger there.

The more constant and within the required
production range, the more favorable it is.

will open a new

photovoltaic farm this spring.

These things don't happen as we imagine,

they need certain preparations.

Such wind or photovoltaic farms have an
impact on the environment.

How do you deal with this problem?

Realistically and in practical terms, we can
talk about a fight against climate change

as long as we also talk about a biodiversity
conservation policy.

Our company has 3 main strategies

for the future through which it tries
to protect biodiversity.

One of them and the most important one

is a strategy to implement all new projects

without bringing any negative impact
on the environment.

This is, at international level, a target
called "no net loss"

and we are trying to do that starting from 2030.

Another objective is to not develop
anything in UNESCO

sites which we know are very
valuable sites

and the third objective is to avoid any
form of deforestation

and where it is not possible

to implement ecological reconstruction
projects that will

bring areas to their original value.

Alin, what does electrification mean for
a distribution operator?

From a distribution operator's perspective,
successful electrification

means power that reaches the homes
of customers who need it.

To do this, we need modernization
and digitization.

First of all, the modernization of electrical
networks with new

equipment that can add value and increase
the network's distribution capacity,

and last, but not least, digitization for today

and especially for the future.

Digitization helps us to have resilient networks,

networks that best meet the needs
of all customers

considering that many people

are moving towards electric cars and need
to become prosumers,

to charge a car at home,

we and our networks must be ready
to face all challenges.

Digitization helps us know where
a failure occurs.

Exactly.

And it helps us remedy such failure without
physically traveling on field.

From the wind or photovoltaic farm,

the energy does not reach our homes directly,

but goes through a transformer station first.

We have Rafael with us who will explain

what this transformer station means.

The transformer station is a very
important element

of the distribution network through

which the distributor is able to transit

or locally transform the electricity
to be distributed

to other interconnected stations

or even to final consumers or
medium voltage

networks connected by medium voltage
lines to the power station.

How is this transformer station, where we
are now, different

from other transformer stations in the
E-Distribuție network?

It is a station built underground

that occupies

somewhere less than 1,000 square meters,
while a classic station

with old technology occupies more than
2,000 square meters.

Within Enel, we have encapsulated equipment,

including for the high voltage section,

as well as encapsulated high voltage
transformers with fire protection

and state-of-the-art compact medium voltage cells.

This station is

one of the only stations in Romania

that is built in this way, underground, but also

among the few in Eastern Europe, South-Eastern
Europe, even in Europe.

In E-Distribuție, most of the

stations we have

are remote-controlled like this one, having protection
and remote control and switching equipment

so that the network operator, with the help
of the operation center,

can switch and maintain, ensure sustainability

and

fast operation of the facility, ensuring that any event
affecting the installation will

have a minimum impact on consumers.

We have now reached the part

where energy is sold directly to customers.

Basically, the supplier's role

now is to facilitate customers'

access to energy solutions,

we are talking here about
electricity and gas,

and at the same time access to
energy efficiency solutions.

And this thing has become more
and more important

for

all customers in our portfolio.

You should know that we have a
number of customers

who have become prosumers now.

So a prosumer is that person who produces
energy from green energy...

Exactly!

And who can sell it, inject it into the network.

Practically, in addition to being a consumer,

the customer also becomes an
energy producer.

In addition to setting off the customer's

own consumption, this practically also
generates a source of income.

The future is electric, that’s for sure.

To become sustainable, we
must take action.

But how to keep this balance

between sustainable and comfortable,

Ana Maria, what does electrification mean,

from the perspective of Enel X?

At Enel X, we think about the global context

and understand electrification as a tool to
achieve the huge goal of decarbonation.

In the context we are now experiencing
in Romania,

the decarbonation goal is difficult
to achieve

and our contribution, at Enel X, through
our products and services,

is quite important.

The solutions we offer

are mainly aimed at optimizing
electricity consumption,

in particular given this concern

that our customers have, regarding consumption
and very high costs.

The products that Enel X offers

to customers are aimed at several
categories of customers.

First of all, to residential customers,
that we call "Business to consumer".

We try to offer them energy
efficient products,

hi-tech heating plants and air conditioners,

but also the possibility to install photovoltaic
panels and become prosumers.

On the other hand,

we offer corporate customers products that
contribute to energy efficiency,

which help them improve

their electricity consumption.

And reduce their carbon footprint

And, obviously, reduce their carbon footprint

we are all looking at the same huge goal: decarbonation!

We are talking about photovoltaic panels,
we are talking about storage solutions.

We target public institutions in Romania,

who have ways to optimize their
energy consumption

either by mounting

LED bulbs on public lighting poles,

or by e-mobility solutions,

charging stations or other things,

and this is how we believe we can cover

he entire range of...

Consumption...

Of consumers

in society

and measures to target these consumers
in such a way as

to contribute to the goal of decarbonation

and electrification.

When you think of electrification you automatically
think of electric cars.

What does Enel X Way have to offer?

Since 2019, Enel X Way has started to build
a public charging infrastructure.

Today we can say that we have about
300 charging points,

that is 150 stations.

In addition to public infrastructure,

we offer charging solutions for individuals,

companies and, of course,
public institutions.

These charging solutions, do they mean that,
if somebody owns a house

and has an electric car,

you offer them solutions to charge
their car at home?

Exactly!

Home charging stations, starting
from a low, 7kW output,

up to fast charging stations of 150 kW.

Hello!

I am very curious to see the evolution over time
of the number of customers of this network.

In terms of e-mobility,

Enel X Way has two major targets in Romania.

One is to create a public infrastructure of charging
stations for all electric car users

and the second is

basically to sell charging stations

and charging session management
software solutions

to electric car users.

In practice, we offer both charging stations
for private use,

since 80% of charging is recommended to be done
at home or at the office,

being the most comfortable,

but we also create this public
infrastructure

for electric car users to be able to charge their
cars while in transit.

In terms of number of customers,

I can tell you that the evolution has been
really spectacular.

If a few years ago, when we started
this development,

we had a few hundred clients,

now we manage over 10 thousand.

Enel X Way, this is the way.
