the next time I looked away,

he could OD and die.

But this last time, I was wrong.

He wasn't using,
the drug test proved it.

And I... (sighs) I overreacted.

It happens to everyone
who loves an addict.

Nic had the same issue
with her sister, her father.

She spent her whole life
trying to save them.

In Al-Anon, they say let go.

Let them take the consequences.

But, sometimes,
those consequences are death.

not try to prevent that?

couldn't fight infection.

this pneumonia.

It'll take some time, but with
a full course of treatment,

you should be okay.

this could've easily killed you.
