I'm feeling good about my video campaign,

and I think that branding
is very Irma Gerd.

Did y'all experiment
with makeup prior to drag?

Like, when was the first time that
you experimented with makeup?

I was probably seven or eight,
and my sisters put me in a dress...

- Mm-hmm.
- Put makeup on my face.

They were trying to, like, make
fun of me, but I looked so good.

[laughs] I love that.

I was like, "Wow! Like, this can
be like a thing boys do as well?"

- Mm-hmm.
- After that, every time my mother

would get ready for, like,
church, she would, like...

You know, it's the whole process.
You feel like you're pampering yourself.

- It's the fantasy.
- Yeah.

And so now when I get into drag,
I feel the same way.

And you don't have to leave
your house to do it.

You can do it at home
in front of a mirror.

You don't need anyone else
to feel beautiful.

Mine was a form of expression.

- How old were you?
- I was, like, six when I came out.

- Six?
- Yeah.

- You came out as gay first?
- No, as trans right away.

All: Wow.

I was like, "Mom, I feel
like having a long hair,

wearing, like, a skirt."

I didn't even know what trans was,

but I knew deep down that I was a woman.

She handed me makeup.

She was like, "Keep it a secret
for now."

So, like, every time I touched makeup on,

like, it was a way for me
to live my woman fantasy.

- That's good. Good job.
- Moms are the best.

Give it up for our moms.

It's just great to have
that one person at least

to support you and be your cheerleader.

I love my mom so much.

For me, makeup was the first thing
that I gravitated towards with drag,

because, like, that's, like,
the transformation process.

That's the first thing people
see when they look at you.

I've just, like, grown so much
with my makeup journey.

I learned everything from social media,
like, watching tutorials and practicing.

And now I can help teach
other people do to makeup.

Cool.

So my first makeup story,
truthfully, was when I moved here.

I did a talent show

at a club as a male entertainer,

and the club owners were
the ones that were like,

"Oh, well, you should do this next
week for the talent show in drag."

I was like, "In drag?
What are you talking about?"

"Yeah, like, you know, a wig, a
dress."

I'm like, "Hell, no. Not me.
Mm-mm."

- Your inner homophobia cames in.
- Yeah. It was up to me, girl.

I didn't have thoughts
to, like, be a drag queen.

I want to be the Lion
King, girl. [Chuckles]

A drag queen did my makeup
for the first time,

and I was, like...

I was so scared first.

And then hitting the stage,
like, right away?

Yeah, like, literally.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That's so cool.

Drag chose me.

God just placed this entity, which
is Jada Shada Hudson, on me,

and that's why I'm so proud
to be a drag queen today.

It was a gift.

I think the first time I did drag makeup,

it was with, like, four eyeshadow colors.

The one thing I would've done...
That classic cat eye.

I would have just made
the eyeliner bigger...

just to bring some balance
to the nose and eyes,

but beyond that, love it.

It was so nice to see you
coming more into your own.

This also brought so much joy.

Just a beautiful interpretation.

The reveal was a total surprise,
which is very hard to do.

to being over prepared

When we were doing your commercial,

I think you had almost
five pages of storyboard.

With that, I feel like you
almost have set yourself up

to be frantic and frenetic.

It just did not feel
like a cohesive commercial.

I adore the colors you use,

but instead of putting the
lash glue on the band itself,

I put it on top of the band,
stick it on like this.

You get that lifted look,

'cause we want to see your beautiful eyes.

I keep saying go smaller.
Go smaller.

And you did the exact
opposite of that. You went bigger.

I think you need a softer glam.

When you figure that out,
it is over for these hos.

the harder it is.

and no one follows her in a store?

But because I'm really dark, you
know, the security's following me.

I just want to tell myself and tell
other people that, you know what?

Black is beautiful.

There's so much strength in you.

Talking about colorism is something

that we only used to speak about...

Black people to each other.

But you sharing that with all of us

just brings another beautiful
dynamic to Jada Shada Hudson.

Your dress tonight
is just unspeakably beautiful.

I love the Bantu knots and the braids.

For you to represent Black women
so beautifully,

in the second half of it

There was a disconnect with it being
an actual commercial for this palette.

When you write for 20 seconds,

this is not long,

so I had to scrap a lot of things,

and I think I maybe scrapped
the main stuff.

I keep the joke and not the content, so...

But this...

this is on point, on target.

Your outfit right now is
just giving me the fever dream

that I do not want to wake up from.

This is happiness.

Next up, Miss Fiercalicious.

For real, this is
groundbreaking and so smart.

I still think Snot Rocket's
gonna sell off the shelves,

but I need to come up with a
better campaign for it to do so.

Looking around at everyone's
outfit, I literally was doubting mine.

In that commercial,
I felt like I was a sweaty mess.

Like, I'm a big girl.

I'm never told I'm the pretty girl,

and everything is always
like the Turn Up queen,

the dancer, this and that.

You're not a beauty queen...
Like, that narrative,

can we just get rid of that forever now?

what do we think?

Our Cat Mom, Vivian Vanderpuss.

She created a fabulous palette.

I feel it has mass-market appeal.

She showed us her campiness.
She showed us who she was.

But she was also able to sell her product.

She looked so beautiful
on the runway tonight.

- And to pull off a reveal like that,

she's an exciting queen to watch.

It was cat-ivating.

Up next, our Snot Rocket, Irma Gerd.

I liked kind of where
she was going with it,

but it just never quite got there.

The rocket never landed?

That's happened to me a few times.

There is a pill for that.

She has a lot of really good ideas,

and we could see
that she can execute them well,

as we saw with her runway look,

which was outstanding.
- Oh! So good!

But in the commercial, there were just

so many things happening, I was
like, "Are you gonna sell the palette?"

There's a market for that
alternative, edgier brand.

Totally.

The only thing edgy about her commercial,

her brand, was the name Snot Rocket.

Correct.

The eyelashes were too distracting to me.

The runway look, though, outstanding.

Incredible.

We have our Butter Chicken bae, Bombae.

On the runway, she really comes alive,

but it doesn't translate
all the way through

in the challenges,
as we've seen with Snatch Game

and then also with this challenge.

It seemed like a lot of jokes,
jokes, jokes, jokes, jokes,

and then, oh, yeah, by the way,
this is a palette

and there's a butter chicken shape.

And then we get to the final
photo, and it felt a little messy to me.

It needs to be spotless.

It needs to be symmetrical, even.

You need to complement your features.

If Bombae just kind of
listened to the critiques

and just kind of gave herself
room to play...

There's gonna be no stopping her.

Jada Shada Hudson.

I thought her commercial was wonderful.

It was so spot-on.

The colors make sense
to the whole "turn up."

It's bright, it's bold,

and it's unequivocally Jada.

My heart has been full

watching the evolution
of Jada Shada Hudson,

seeing the evolution of her makeup,
seeing the evolution of her drag,

seeing the evolution of her runway.

I mean, she believes it now.

And her runway tonight was very moving.

I think she took the category of paint,

and she really interpreted it
in a beautiful way.

Jada is so authentic.

- That's her superpower.
- It is her superpower.

I have no idea.

She knew, once she saw the commercial,

exactly where she had gone wrong.

The funny could have taken the backburner,

and, like, the smart business sensibility
should have come more forward.

She didn't hit the marks,
but her runway tonight...

That photo was so timeless.

It can go from decade to decade
and still sell palettes.

- Absolutely.

And that photo was my
favorite photo out of all of them.

And to go from that photo
to that runway look,

just showing her range and versatility.

Up next, Fierce by Miss Fiercalicious.

Talk about a queen who
understood the assignment this week.

No kidding.

She came in, and she had
her storyboard set up.

She was very confident.
She was very focused.

There are people out there

that want to start doing makeup
but don't know how to,

and so when you see that two
for one, it speaks to everybody.

And her runway tonight...

- And her runway... ugh!
- And her runway tonight...

Oh! Literally remember seeing
that painting

when I was, like, ten years old
and being like,

"Oh, I'm a homosexual."
[laughter]

Last but certainly not least,

Transcending by Kimberly Couture.

We talk about authenticity,

and you use that to create art

or to create commercials,
you see what happens.

She's so entertaining.

She's so, so fun to watch.

And she looked beautiful.

For her runway,

I felt that, unfortunately,
because of that palette,

I couldn't see her makeup.

And what I could see,
I don't think I loved.

Not the cutest.

Okay, have we made our decision?
