The winning team today

earns $45,000

to be divided amongst
yourselves for your charities.

- All right, for the first
stage of today's adventure,

you'll stack pieces of bamboo
on a triangular platform

and then three teammates
will raise that platform

using ropes and pulleys.

If any bamboo falls,
you start over.

Once the platform
reaches the top,

it will trigger a mechanism,
dropping a set of paddles.

You'll then have to trek
through uneven jungle terrain

to the lagoon
where you'll paddle out

the length
of four football fields.

One player will need
to dive down

to collect two bags
of puzzle tiles

secured 6 feet
and 8 feet below the surface.

Once you have both bags,

head another half mile
through the jungle

to reach the final stage
of this adventure.

There two members of your team
will lift a 250-pound wall

revealing adventure images
on the other side.

The other two teammates
will memorize those images

and run to a blank wall
and match them,

but beware of subtle
differences in the tiles.

The first team to correctly
place all of their tiles

wins this adventure.

with my foot stuck in sand,

started going in my lungs.

and this guy was walking by

and he pulled me out of there.

As you hear the heavens,
the rain continues to deluge.

It's obvious the jungle
does not play well with others.

You guys have been battered
by the elements and today

we all suffered a big blow

when Lauren went down
on the adventure.

As of right now, her future
on the show is uncertain.

I know we all would love to see
Lauren return.

Eboni, she has been your ride
or die since the very start.

- Yes. She took a nasty fall,
and I know it's because

she was pushing herself
to lead this team as captain.

The issue is
we're in the jungle

and the elements are violent.

She was undefeated until today

and I know
that it would break her heart

to not come back
and defend that title.

- Obviously, with what happened
to Lauren today,

everyone's spirits
are a little down,

but Jodie, your team won.
You're no longer at the bottom.

So what's going through
your mind?

- I had such an amazing
team today.

Everyone really came out
and--and fought their hardest

and did it and I--I'm thrilled
to not be last anymore.

I've wanted to double my money
today and I feel like I did.

I just--I'm really worried
about Lauren.

I'm really--I think we all are.

So it's--it's really hard
to celebrate a win.

- Ray, you're not used
to losing, my man,

and yet you've lost two
in a row.

- Mauro, nothing
changes for me.

All we have to do
is get to the finish line.

It's anyone's game from there.

- To me, the best moment
of the day

was with Ray dove to get
the pieces to the puzzle.

We all know he was conquering
a very articulable fear

that he has around drowning

and this man went down there
for the team.

- Yeah.

- And he came and there
was a look in his eyes.

It's undescribable, Mauro
It was just one of those looks.

When you see it,

you don't forget it.
- Yeah, I understand. Yeah.

- And then he went
back down there again.

- Yeah. I mean,
when I jumped in,

the bag flipped over my wrist
so I couldn't come out of that.

- Oh.
- Oh, no.

- I'm on my last breath
and I'm like,

"No way I'm going
through this again."

So it was a bad, bad feeling
and it took me all the way back

to the three times
that I almost drowned.

- I gotta ask you, Coach,

what could have been done
better with your team?

- It felt like a-a
fourth-quarter game

and we kicked
the winning field goal,

but the other coach called
time out before the kick.

It's like you get punched
in the gut.

You're like, "Oh man.
We--we--we overcame all

that other stuff
and we got a chance to win.

Oh, we won.
Oh, no. No, not yet."

It was very frustrating
and--and it was tough.

- And the way my team
lost today,

I lose like that every time.

- One of the most
exhilarating adventures.

Would you guys all agree?

- It was a good gameplay today.

- How much of a reality
check though,

Paulina was it for you

when Lauren
did go down with her injury

especially after
you've chronicled

your physical issues
in this situation?

- Mine is kind of like a
chronic condition and it hurts

and if I get rest,
then it feels a lot better.

And if I do a lot of strenuous
exercises and it feels worse.

But, yeah, sure I'm in pain.
Same--same old.

- I've found the calmness in
this jungle when I stepped in

and that's because I didn't
have voices in my ear.

I didn't have social media
to label me.

I didn't have to worry
about people

looking at me out in public
or judging me.

And I mean I look at all this,
this is adversity.

I've gone through
this many times in--in

my life already.

And the people
that I'm here for

and the foundation
that I'm playing for,

I couldn't imagine
putting myself

in their shoes for a day.

So I think I could suck this up
and power through this.

- I've been saying it
since day one,

this is a brutal place, man.

Every one of these people,
Lauren included,

and she proved it,
were giving it 125%.

And in doing that, your risk
assessment--that window

gets more and more narrow
every time we do something.

- It's only going to be this
and much more

for the second half.

Eboni, where are you
now mentally?

- As everybody here knows,

when you say adventure
starts now, there is no pain.

- Yeah.

- But I didn't sleep last night
and I've been in pain all day

and I'm in severe pain now

because the crown
to my root canal

came off...
- Oh.

- At some point yesterday.
- I know that feeling.

- I feel like I got punched
in the jaw, Mauro.
