for a 56-year-old
to go into the jungle

with a bunch of youth

After that swimming challenge,

my hips are not cooperating.

I'm actually not here to prove
how incredibly athletic I am.

I'm trying to prove
that a 56-year-old woman

can still stay
in a game this hard,

but it's been so much harder

than I thought
that it would be.

I am in a lot of pain,
quite honestly.

What do you wanna bet I'm gonna
be picked last again today?

at our breaking point.

The first couple days,

- How did you come up
with this?

- You know, when I was a kid,
10 years old,

my motivation wasn't sports.

I wasn't even
playing sports then.

It was just to figure out
how to get stronger so I could

stand in front of my mom
when a man tried to hit my mom.

I wanted to be strong enough
to fight back too.

Since I started this workout,

um, there's only one other guy

that's ever put his hands
on my mom.

My mother,

I wouldn't do for her.

So it's a memory for me.

It's something that never lets
me get comfortable.

Who knew at
the University of Miami,

I would get
the last scholarship they had

and the last one, the
last numbers they had was 52.

So it's crazy.

has forever saved my life.

but that has been far surpassed

Today, we embrace
our temporary home

of Bocas Del Toro.

As you can imagine,
in remote tropical locations

bartering for goods is a staple
in the economic structure.

For the first stage
of this adventure,

you're going to be carrying
puzzle pieces

through an obstacle course,

balancing them
on a wooden disc.

If any of the pieces fall,
you must start over.

Once completed,
two members of each team

assemble the first letter
of each word,

Bocas Del Toro.

Once you've figured it out,

you'll grab 80 pounds
of plantains

and carry them 200 yards

where you will trade them
for 80 pounds of cocoa beans.

Using wheelbarrows,
you'll push the beans

200 yards to the lagoon,

paddle out another 200 yards
to a fishing boat

and trade the bags
for 80 pounds of fish.

For the final stage
of this adventure,

you'll hang your heavy nets
of fish on hooks.

The weight of the fish
unearths the puzzle pieces

that you will need
to assemble a massive map

of beautiful Bocas Del Doro.

The winning team earns $40,000
for their charities

to be divided
amongst yourselves,

putting crucial points
on your personal scoreboard.

attacking the puzzle

completed their "B" in Bocas.

They're now working on
the "D" in Del.

- Wow! That was fast.

And now Red Team is moving on
to the final letter.

For Lauren and Eboni,

it is definitely team work
making the dream work.

- Ray's team has finished
their first letter.

and they're about to run
like the bulls into the jungle.

200 yards up the trail

to the roadside stand

where they'll trade
80 pounds of plantains

for 80 pounds of cocoa beans.

Using a wheelbarrow,

they'll run another 200 yards
to the lagoon.

completed their second letter.

- We know the bottom
piece is correct.

I'm good at puzzles,
but doing it in a panic,

it's not the ideal
puzzle scenario.

- They are on their way
to the jungle

as this competition
was completely bananas!

- Lauren reminds me
of one of my daughters.

She has all the ability
in the world

and sometimes,
she doesn't feel comfortable

outside of her comfort zone.

she can jump on it
and get excited

because you think
she can do it.

- We're almost there, Coach.
- [grunts]

we have to face out here,

I use my kids as motivation.

Being a father is probably
the greatest thing

that you'll ever do as a man.

The hardest thing
to do as a father

is understand
how to be a father

when you're not raised
by your father.

but I'm at a place in life now

where I'm blowing all that up.

all in an effort to grow

into my most powerful
and prolific self.

the adrenaline picks up.

I have a real phobia
when it comes to water.

That's the one element

on this Earth.

It's too unpredictable.

and we panicked immediately.
We had to get him out.

- We trade the cocoa

- Trying to get the beans
onto the boat

and it fell into the water.

So then we had to
go back to get it.

- This sucks.

- They dropped their bag.

They're having a problem.

One of their bags fell out,

and this is when
we take the lead.

- Y'all on that ramp.

on my shoulder.

- Blue Team has the lead

and will now trek 200 yards
to the final stage,

where they will use
their heavy bags of fish

to release puzzle pieces.

Once they put them
properly together,

it will show a giant map
of Bocas Del Toro.

We're fighting against
each other.

- [grunts]

I grew up in one of the most
competitive families,

two Division One athletes
for parents,

me and my brother were both

full ride scholarship
athletes, played football.

Competition's in our blood.
We don't do anything for fun.

There's nothing more
that I hate than losing.

- [grunts]

that in this moment,

and then I see

It kind of hurts my knees
and it hurts my hips.

Of course, the other team's
like, milliseconds behind us.

- Guys, they know we're close.
Let's go.

- Decision point.
- What is it?

- We gotta go
to the final stage.

- "Direct route," let's go.

- Keep pulling, keep pulling.

Ray, they got it.

[all grunting]

- Get the clue! Get it!

- Get the bamboo.
Just bring the whole bamboo.

- ♪ And then comes Ray to save
the world with one hand ♪

And there's the clue.

- There are extra
puzzle pieces

in the final stage
of the adventure.

Ray's team has the advantage
of knowing

which pieces don't belong.

- They're right here! Let's go!
Come on, guys.

We caught 'em. We caught 'em.
- We caught 'em.

- Lauren, push it back
on my shoulder.

- Hey, Coach, give it to me.

- Come on, guys.

- Down the stretch they come.

Both teams neck and neck.

Coach's team
exhuming the puzzle pieces.

- Get the clue.

- We're against
the puzzle queen

on this final stage.

But we do have the clue,
and let me tell you,

these clues
are an immeasurable help.

We need something
with a blue curve right here.

I love puzzles in real life.

I'm really good
at problem solving.

Growing up in entertainment

where there's all kinds
of chaos going around

has definitely prepared me
for living a life

where there's just
a lot going on.

- Lay the pieces
on the outside edge, ladies.

- "Bocas del Toro."

- Come here, Lauren.

- Lauren, you can get on
the table if you want to.

- Lay 'em all out, spread 'em
out as much as you can.

This is the first time
in this competition

that I don't have a hint
at the end of it.

I know I'm good at puzzles,
and this is a true puzzle.

We need "Bocas" right there.

I'm here to prove
that I can do this

without the hint.

- Eight celebrities

in the thick
of the Panamanian jungle

trying to put together a map.

This is a case of where
you literally want

to put the cartography
before the horse.

I'm looking over and realize,

We need to really get busy here
and get more pieces together.

And obviously I'm thinking,

I'm working through the pain.

that's some kind of chocolate.

This was not just a casual win
by any means.

It means everything to me.

and now I know

We all know this.

I'd be like,

Oh, New York, yeah."

But I'm telling you, it is not
what I would be thinking

if I were sitting there
watching it.

and it's been tough
for you, Eboni,

but today, a moment of glory.

How are you feeling right now?

I--wow.

I don't wake up
in the morning to lose.

I do not.

So once you lose once, twice,
and a third time,

the narratives in my head
starts to be,

"Maybe I'm not fit to be here.

"Maybe I don't know
how to win here.

"I will habitually
be a liability

for whatever team I'm on."

And that is unacceptable to me

in terms of
my personal integrity.

So to win today
was about evidence to myself

and to really everyone here.

I had the most to prove today.
We know it.

To say that,
"You can win with me,"

I needed to say that today,

and I feel I said that today,

and it feels damn good.

you were victorious,

How do you strategize that?

It may be mathematically
impossible for you to win

in terms of the most money
raised for your charity.

- I was real frustrated today

and feeling like
I'm consistently losing,

despite giving everything,

um, strategy-wise,
I don't know. I have no idea.

I'm not always great
at thinking three steps ahead.

- I'ma take the opposite
approach, you know.

As a closeted man,

I had to think
three steps ahead.

I strategized my entire life.

Like today, when I wasn't
on Craig's team,

I knew if I won,
I'd be ahead of him,

that's just how my brain works.

It's just sort of
how I'm wired.

I mean, I think at some point,
it's a little naive of us

to keep saying all the strategy
goes out the window

because at a certain point,
you're gonna have to

make a decision
that's best for your charity.

- If there's a puzzle
at the end of every challenge

like there has been all the way
to the end of this game, um,

I'm by far the best
at the puzzles.

- No doubt.
- Yeah, absolutely.

- That's a fact.
- And so that brings me

a lot of confidence,

and I came into this thing
with zero confidence, really.

So I don't know.

I feel pretty confident
at this point.

I do have a great strength.
