When you do good they go as
well you have a album as
00:04 - 00:07
successful as Get Rich or Die
Trying. They say yo you think
00:07 - 00:13
you can do it again? Actor,
author, video game character,
00:13 - 00:17
and nutrition expert. You had
this in case you forget to take
00:17 - 00:22
your multivitamin. 2005 seemed
like the ultimate hustle for 50
00:22 - 00:26
Cent featuring refined mister
Curtis Jackson flexing his
00:26 - 00:29
entrepreneurial muscle and
legions of die hards marketing
00:29 - 00:35
his company's brand out loud.
And everybody else in your
00:35 - 00:37
circle. I don't have a problem
with putting all these **** out
00:37 - 00:44
of business. Tell me, what do
you plan to massacre next?
01:19 - 01:24
Picture this, it's 2 thousand
3, you just dropped the biggest
01:24 - 01:30
debut hip hop album of all
time. Yes, of all time, you are
01:30 - 01:34
the hottest topic in music and
your label immediately wants
01:34 - 01:38
you to drop your sophomore
album. This is a situation that
01:38 - 01:43
most artists aren't in but in
two thousand three, 50 Cent
01:43 - 01:46
was. In the beginning of that
year, he dropped his debut
01:46 - 01:50
album Get Richard I Trine and
Broke Records no other. His
01:50 - 01:54
buzz at an ultimate high. So
naturally the next question is
01:54 - 01:58
what's coming next. The label
was asking at the fans were
01:58 - 02:01
asking that. The last few years
I spent a lot of time working
02:01 - 02:06
on my future. Like my Loyal
Banks project, Hunger For More
02:06 - 02:09
album was already double
platinum. Young Bucks Fed Out
02:09 - 02:13
of Castro. So many copies of
that worldwide. And then Bake
02:13 - 02:17
for Mercy writer. As us as a
group I had to put them out
02:17 - 02:20
immediately after that albums
and people start to view them
02:20 - 02:24
differently if you leave them
around you long enough with you
02:24 - 02:26
being a focus and they're just
there and you start to look
02:26 - 02:29
like they're just your homeboys
you know what I mean instead of
02:29 - 02:32
actually having be an artist
and having talent and the
02:32 - 02:35
pressure to deliver his
sophomore album was officially
02:35 - 02:38
on but instead of immediately
working on a sophomore album
02:38 - 02:42
for the next year and a half he
would end up focusing his time
02:42 - 02:46
on building G Unit Records so
in that year and a half he
02:46 - 02:49
ended up releasing four new
projects from that label. The
02:49 - 02:53
first project would be the June
debut album in November of 2003
02:53 - 02:57
called Beg for Mercy. Following
that in two thousand four,
02:57 - 03:00
artist Lloyd Banks and Young
Buck would release their debut
03:00 - 03:03
albums, The Hunger for More and
Straight Out of Cashville then
03:03 - 03:06
finally, the game would release
his debut album, The
03:06 - 03:09
Documentary. Throughout that
year and a half though, 50 Cent
03:09 - 03:12
would remain in the public's
eye and unknowingly, he would
03:12 - 03:16
increase the anticipation for
his sophomore album. If you
03:16 - 03:20
were to ask most artist in
their career at what point in
03:20 - 03:23
time did they feel the most
pressure? Most of them would
03:23 - 03:26
say it would be at that time
when they had to deliver their
03:26 - 03:30
sophomore album and the reason
why is because usually their
03:30 - 03:34
first album is a major success
and then they have to follow
03:34 - 03:39
that up and a lot of artists
don't live up to that and
03:39 - 03:43
that's why there's the phrase
One Hit Wonder but 50 Cents
03:43 - 03:47
situation was very unique.
Imagine you're literally the
03:47 - 03:51
thing in music right now. You
break the biggest debut hip hop
03:51 - 03:56
record of all time. So the
pressure is immensely crazy. I
03:56 - 04:00
mean not many people ever
experienced this type of
04:00 - 04:03
pressure. And Interscope
Records was very weary of that.
04:03 - 04:08
They understood that 50 Cent
had to deliver something crazy.
04:08 - 04:11
So they showed a lot of
pushback when it came to 50
04:11 - 04:14
Cent and the second album. In
that year and a half while
04:14 - 04:18
promoting Junior Records and
all artists on there 50 were
04:18 - 04:22
secretly behind the scenes
working on the sophomore album
04:22 - 04:27
and in late 2004, he ended up
announcing the release date and
04:27 - 04:30
the title for the album the
first official title for this
04:30 - 04:34
album was the Saint Valentine's
Day Massacre and the release
04:34 - 04:39
date originally was February
15th, 2005 and that original
04:39 - 04:43
album title was inspired by the
1929 murder of seven members
04:43 - 04:48
and associates of Chicago's
North gang the murder happened
04:48 - 04:53
on Valentine's Day of February
14th, 1929 and then if you
04:53 - 04:57
listen to the intro track on
the massacre you'll hear the
04:57 - 05:01
lady say happy Valentine's Day
so this was the original plan
05:01 - 05:08
450 sophomore album happy
Valentine's Day and as we know
05:08 - 05:11
now it never panned out this
way and the reason for that was
05:11 - 05:15
because Interscope Records was
actually given 50 Cent Problems
05:15 - 05:18
on releasing his album they
were worried that the album
05:18 - 05:22
wouldn't perform as well as his
debut album and they wanted all
05:22 - 05:25
the attention to go to the
game's documentary because that
05:25 - 05:29
album came out in January of
2005 and 50 immediately wanted
05:29 - 05:33
his album to come out on
February 2005, so they said
05:33 - 05:36
give some breathing room to
games album make people miss
05:36 - 05:39
you little bit more and then
release her album when the time
05:39 - 05:43
is right but 50 did not want to
do that and that's crazy when
05:43 - 05:46
you think about it because
everything 50 Cent had released
05:46 - 05:48
at that time that was
associated with him was
05:48 - 05:53
successful at that time 50 Cent
was making up 80% of the
05:53 - 05:56
successful black music over at
Interscope Record. I have a
05:56 - 06:02
hell of a year this year. Imma
me myself Imma be about 70% of
06:02 - 06:05
Interscope Black Music. 50
Cent's initial approach to this
06:05 - 06:08
album was to make it a more
personal one. In an interview
06:08 - 06:13
with XXL for the 10 year
anniversary of the album 50
06:13 - 06:16
Cent revealed that he recorded
twelve tracks over the weekend
06:16 - 06:19
for the album and he revealed
that some of these tracks ended
06:19 - 06:22
up on the game's documentary
album and as we know now they
06:22 - 06:26
ended up being Howie Do, Hater
or Love It, Church for Thugs,
06:26 - 06:31
Special West Side Story and
Higher which means that six
06:31 - 06:34
tracks out of those 14 that he
initially recorded. With the
06:34 - 06:37
more personal approach fifty
also revealed that the first
06:37 - 06:41
track he ever recorded for The
Massacre was the track God Gave
06:41 - 06:45
Me Style which eventually ended
up on the album and he recorded
06:45 - 06:48
this track for his grandmother.
After getting ready to die
06:48 - 06:51
trying, the first song that I
wrote for the massacre was God
06:51 - 06:53
Give Me Style, God Give Me
Grace because if you ask me to
06:53 - 06:55
make one wish, I would've
wished for that record to be a
06:55 - 07:00
success. And you know what
happens? When I make the song,
07:00 - 07:03
I go to my grandmother, I play
the record for her. And she's
07:03 - 07:07
like, wow, you got one for me.
When she hears the to god give
07:07 - 07:09
me style god give me grace she
said oh you made one for me and
07:09 - 07:13
I said yeah mama do a little
different this time and she was
07:13 - 07:20
like okay just don't forget why
they liked you in the first
07:20 - 07:29
place. Then 187 and all of the
other ideas come out. Because
07:29 - 07:31
50 Cent decided to give him
most of those personal tracks
07:31 - 07:35
to the game's album, he decided
to take a more sexual approach
07:35 - 07:39
to his own album instead of
personal. My second album The
07:39 - 07:44
Mascot approached it. I wrote
12 songs in three days. Two
07:44 - 07:48
verse songs and I was going to
go back to refix the verses to
07:48 - 07:51
reevaluate what I said on those
verses because I just wrote
07:51 - 07:55
what came to me first hand and
07:56 - 08:00
because I got a phone call from
Jimmy I mean that record turned
08:00 - 08:03
into Games first album the
documentary and went on to sell
08:03 - 08:08
5 million records you see what
I'm saying and then after I did
08:08 - 08:11
that because I was really
approaching my second album
08:11 - 08:14
saying I'm not going to do
anything sexual on the record
08:14 - 08:20
so it's how we do love it you
know it's more it was different
08:20 - 08:22
more personal but it was a
different kind of record and
08:22 - 08:25
then after I did that I said
okay Imma go stick to all
08:25 - 08:29
reliable I went back to candy
shop in just a little bit and
08:29 - 08:32
the things that work with no
problem for me like AO
08:32 - 08:38
technology that kind of energy
but it those were all they were
08:38 - 08:41
all sexual records and they
weren't the same and and it was
08:41 - 08:44
cool for those to come. I knew
they would cut through while
08:44 - 08:47
that other music was playing.
50 Cent ended up recording well
08:47 - 08:52
over 60 tracks for this album.
50's approach to recording this
08:52 - 08:55
album was a lot different than
Richard Itrine. What he did to
08:55 - 08:59
pick his producers was simply
asked producers to submit beats
08:59 - 09:02
and then he would burn em on a
blank disc not knowing who
09:02 - 09:05
produced what track. That way,
he wouldn't be biased towards
09:05 - 09:10
the big name producers like
Scott Storch or Doctor Dre. He
09:10 - 09:13
also didn't require the help of
Eminem and Doctor Dre
09:13 - 09:16
throughout this album like his
first one and the first album
09:16 - 09:20
Doctor Dre and Eminem were more
hands on. On this album, 50
09:20 - 09:23
would complete the tracks,
submit them to Doctor Dre and
09:23 - 09:26
Eminem, they would give their
opinion and that's about it. I
09:26 - 09:28
pretty much A and R this
project myself. You know,
09:28 - 09:32
because I write to what I
want to write to and make the
09:32 - 09:36
records I want to make so it's
like I I had them send me CDs
09:36 - 09:40
without the actual producer's
name when it just got a number
09:40 - 09:45
on it. CD three, CD four, CD
five, CD 6, and I sent through
09:45 - 09:48
the music till I find beat so
turned out a lot of the
09:48 - 09:51
producers on this album with
guys getting their first shot
09:51 - 09:55
in LA I recorded with Doctor
Dre out there towards the end
09:55 - 10:00
of me working with him I begin
to just do what I want to do
10:00 - 10:03
with him you know because it's
almost like we've been you're
10:03 - 10:07
in a room with someone who has
you know lifetime achievement
10:07 - 10:10
award status is this guy's
legend so you you learn to
10:10 - 10:15
follow instructor I I prepared
my 60 song preparation for
10:15 - 10:21
album that I released about
seventeen. Like it's the best
10:21 - 10:25
of the best material I created
over that time period once 50
10:25 - 10:28
Cent completed the album he of
course had planned for it to be
10:28 - 10:32
released on February 15th, but
like I said earlier Interscope
10:32 - 10:36
was showing pushback and did
not want to release it at that
10:36 - 10:39
time Interscope wanted to set
up a sure fire plan that
10:39 - 10:42
50-Cent would succeed with the
second album they were also
10:42 - 10:45
worried about the public's
perception of 50 because around
10:45 - 10:49
this time there was a lot of
drama surrounding 50 Cent so
10:49 - 10:52
much so that people were
actually calling for the ban of
10:52 - 10:56
50 and G unit as a label and of
course his second album The
10:56 - 11:00
Massacre was going to fuel that
even more if he released it. So
11:00 - 11:04
Interscope was facing a dilemma
here and they were worried that
11:04 - 11:07
he was going to underperform if
he came out too soon with all
11:07 - 11:10
this drama surrounding him.
Fifty Cent didn't care what
11:10 - 11:13
Interscope wanted though. He
took matters into his own hands
11:13 - 11:17
and started leaking his own
music from the album. The first
11:17 - 11:20
track that he leaked from the
album was Disco Inferno and he
11:20 - 11:24
ended up leaking this track on
Thanksgiving Day of two
11:24 - 11:27
thousand and four. The track
ended up getting a lot of buzz
11:27 - 11:30
for 50 Cents album but
Interscope Records still didn't
11:30 - 11:33
want to release the album on
February 15th, like 50 did so
11:33 - 11:37
they proposed that he releases
the album on March 8 and
11:37 - 11:40
because of that date change it
wouldn't make sense to name the
11:40 - 11:44
album the Saint Valentine's Day
Massacre so 50 changed, it from
11:44 - 11:48
that to just the massacre then
MTV asked him why he leaked his
11:48 - 11:51
own record and he said I was
trying to force Interscope
11:51 - 11:55
Records to release my record on
February 15th but Interscope
11:55 - 11:59
Records is reactive. I'm
proactive. So I threw Disco
11:59 - 12:02
Inferno out and kind of got
them to respond to me. But the
12:02 - 12:05
massacre probably wouldn't even
be coming out on March 8th if I
12:05 - 12:08
didn't do that at that point
because this project is a big
12:08 - 12:11
project to them. They want to
have everything mapped out and
12:11 - 12:15
it's more mechanical this time.
As Disco Inferno was catching
12:15 - 12:18
more buzz, Interscope decided
to take the record and
12:18 - 12:21
officially push it to radio
stations and release it as a
12:21 - 12:25
single on December 11th
2thousand and4. Fifty told MTV,
12:25 - 12:28
oh man, the record's done
incredible. It's number four in
12:28 - 12:31
the country right now on
Billboard's Hot Rap tracks
12:31 - 12:35
chart and it has zero support
from Interscope Records. I went
12:35 - 12:38
out with or without them and
they caught up to it. They
12:38 - 12:41
ended up sending out the
official promos after I emptied
12:41 - 12:44
it across the country. I feel
good about it and now I'm ready
12:44 - 12:48
to move into the candy shop.
Ultimately, fifty's first
12:48 - 12:51
single Disco Inferno off the
album ended up peaking at
12:51 - 12:54
number three on the Billboard
Hot one hundred. Fifty
12:54 - 12:57
continued taking things into
his own hands and instead of
12:57 - 13:00
waiting for Interscope Records,
he decided to leak the second
13:00 - 13:04
single which would end up being
Candy Shop. He leaked the song
13:04 - 13:08
The Best Way He Knew How To
which was on mixtapes and on
13:08 - 13:12
January 11th 2 thousand and
five, the June Radio Part 10
13:12 - 13:16
mixtape 2050 before the
Massacre came out and the first
13:16 - 13:20
track on that mixtape was Candy
Shop and this was the official
13:20 - 13:28
leak of the track. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, 50 Cent. 50 Cent.
13:28 - 13:31
50 Cent. New album. New album.
New album. Valentine's Day
13:31 - 13:37
massacre. Coming soon. Coming
soon. Coming soon. 2 00five. 2
13:37 - 13:44
00five. But now. But now. It's
$2050. 2050. 2050. Whoo. And of
13:44 - 13:47
course, the mixtape market
never failed 50 Cent and
13:47 - 13:51
actually increased his buzz
even more. When the song was
13:51 - 13:55
officially leaked, it debuted
at number 53 on the Billboard
13:55 - 13:58
Hot 100 the second week, it
jumped to number 30 and the
13:58 - 14:02
third week, it jumped to number
eight. In the fourth week, it
14:02 - 14:06
charted at number two on the
Billboard Hot 100 then finally,
14:06 - 14:09
Interscope picked up the record
and pushed it to radio
14:09 - 14:13
stations. So, when you think
about it, it was 50 leak in the
14:13 - 14:17
that made it go to number two
and all Interscope had to do is
14:17 - 14:20
pick it up from number two and
promote it and then the
14:20 - 14:23
following week after that it
went to number one it took
14:23 - 14:26
Interscope one whole month to
finally pick up Candy Shop and
14:26 - 14:30
they pushed it to radio
stations on February 15th, 2005
14:30 - 14:34
as the official second single
as the weeks were closing in
14:34 - 14:37
for 50 to finally release his
sophomore album The Massacre a
14:37 - 14:41
lot of things surrounding him
which start to go wrong G unit
14:41 - 14:44
member of the game ended up his
album towards the end of
14:44 - 14:48
January in two thousand five.
50 was focused on promoting his
14:48 - 14:51
album and made sure that his
album would perform very well
14:51 - 14:55
because he's obviously a unit
artist and it reflects on 50
14:55 - 14:58
and the game decided he no
longer wanted to be a G unit
14:58 - 15:02
artist and decided to attack
fifty. Now, 50 in his own camp
15:02 - 15:05
had an artist attacking him
which then caused Interscope
15:05 - 15:08
Records to get even more scared
because people are already
15:08 - 15:12
protesting 50 Cent and saying
that he's very vulgar and
15:12 - 15:16
violent in his music and now he
has a beef with his own artist.
15:16 - 15:20
50 Cent ended up going on the
road to promote his massacre
15:20 - 15:24
album and tell everybody that
March 8th was the new and
15:24 - 15:28
official release date. While
doing the promo run, he stopped
15:28 - 15:31
by Hot ninety-seven and while
there he announced that the
15:31 - 15:34
game was no longer with G Unit,
the game was in New York and
15:34 - 15:38
heard that he got kicked out of
G Unit so he showed up at the
15:38 - 15:42
Hot ninety-seven studio that
Fifty Cent was at, a shootout
15:42 - 15:45
happened but this didn't stop
50 from promoting his album he
15:45 - 15:48
kept doing radio interviews but
another fork in the road
15:48 - 15:52
happened while promoting this
album it turned out Bootlegers
15:52 - 15:56
got their hands on the album
before the March eighth release
15:56 - 16:00
date so 50 and Interscope
scrambled and decided to push
16:00 - 16:05
the date up to March 3rd 2005
and that's crazy you you got a
16:05 - 16:07
new record coming out The
Massacre Massacre and as I
16:07 - 16:10
understand it was like March 8
but I think we had a little
16:10 - 16:14
leakage come out buster now
March 3rd so does it make you
16:14 - 16:17
mad when your record leaks no
no it doesn't like as long as
16:17 - 16:20
you know the response that I
was received from it is
16:20 - 16:23
positive yeah everybody's
excited and they're happy that
16:23 - 16:25
they got it already I'm I'm
like because you know it seems
16:25 - 16:28
like some people they they
really bug out but it's like
16:28 - 16:31
just because a record leaks on
the internet and it's not like
16:31 - 16:33
you're not making money and
you're not selling albums I
16:33 - 16:35
mean it sounds like it's good
promotion my album been
16:35 - 16:39
downloaded 300, 000 times
before it went on sale on my
16:39 - 16:42
last album that's a lot and I
still did 872, 000 the first
16:42 - 16:46
week then I went on to do
another 822, 000 what it does
16:46 - 16:49
is it confirms the people is
safe to buy the actual record.
16:49 - 16:53
Normally back then music would
come out on Tuesdays and March
16:53 - 16:57
8th, 2005 was a Tuesday. But
when they pushed it up to March
16:57 - 17:01
third of 2005 that was a
Thursday. Because of that it
17:01 - 17:05
only counted for 5 days of
sales and not a full week
17:05 - 17:10
missing two days. Despite that
and multiple mishaps 50 Cent
17:10 - 17:15
broke his own record from his
debut album and broke several
17:15 - 17:19
records overall. The album
ended up selling one million
17:19 - 17:24
150, 000 copies with those five
days of sales and it became the
17:24 - 17:28
number three highest first week
selling hip hop album of all
17:28 - 17:32
time only to lose to Eminem
which is his own label mate
17:32 - 17:35
Eminem held the number one slot
with the Marshall Mathers LP
17:35 - 17:39
and he held the numbertwo slot
with the Eminem show at 1. 3
17:39 - 17:43
million copies I highly believe
that if 50 Cent had a full
17:43 - 17:48
first week he at minimum would
have sold 1. 3 million copies
17:48 - 17:51
tying Eminem for the number two
slot. That wasn't the only
17:51 - 17:54
thing that he did that week
though. In that week, he also
17:54 - 17:58
made Billboard chart history.
He became the first solo artist
17:58 - 18:03
ever at that time to have three
singles in the top five at the
18:03 - 18:07
Hot 100 at the same time. Candy
Shop was number one, Disco
18:07 - 18:11
Inferno was number five, and
then Howie Do with the game was
18:11 - 18:15
number four and with breaking
all those records, of course,
18:15 - 18:19
came Con because right when the
massacre was released track
18:19 - 18:22
number five also came out which
was Piggy Bank and as we all
18:22 - 18:26
know now he was taking quite a
few shots at a bunch of rappers
18:26 - 18:30
on that track this track would
spark the beef between 50 Cent
18:30 - 18:34
and Jadakiss 50 Cent and Fat
Joe 50 Cent and Nas 50 and
18:34 - 18:38
Shine and 50 and Cassidy all
those people were on fifty's
18:38 - 18:41
neck after this track dropped
and 50 said he had a bunch of
18:41 - 18:45
response tracks if they were to
respond to him despite all
18:45 - 18:48
those battles and people trying
to get at fifty. 50 Cent
18:48 - 18:52
clearly still held the throne
in hip hop in two thousand five
18:52 - 18:55
by not only breaking all those
records but he went on to do a
18:55 - 18:59
lot more in two thousand five.
You got a record called Piggy
18:59 - 19:03
Bank. Yeah. And in this record,
you diss Fat Joe, you diss
19:03 - 19:07
Jadakiss and you diss Nas. You
know, I didn't diss anybody. I
19:07 - 19:11
made factual statements about
it. And these guys take shots
19:11 - 19:13
at you. If anybody want to
challenge you in in in your
19:13 - 19:17
career, your on your safety.
It's cool. I'm from an
19:17 - 19:20
environment where the price of
life is cheap. This is why I'm
19:20 - 19:23
used to em. It's actually a
comfort zone for me to have
19:23 - 19:28
issues. The massacre finds
fifty feeling real comfortable
19:28 - 19:32
and his swagger's definitely
evident as he verbally attacks
19:32 - 19:36
foes, old and new. I hear
everything, every little thing,
19:36 - 19:39
things that they would probably
think didn't count because it
19:39 - 19:42
didn't do anything for their
career. Mm hmm. I still heard
19:42 - 19:45
what you said. Now, they
want to ooh peace treaty white
19:45 - 19:49
flag. Everybody, who please get
a office. This kid is killing
19:49 - 19:52
him but when you let him get
back up on their feet, they
19:52 - 19:56
want to fight again. That's why
I say it says, for me, when you
19:56 - 19:59
begin to destroy, you should
destroy completely. Opponents
19:59 - 20:02
released the album generally
received positive reviews from
20:02 - 20:06
most critics. Los Angeles Times
ended up giving three out of
20:06 - 20:10
four stars. Rolling Stone gave
it four out of five stars.
20:10 - 20:14
Pitchfork gave it a seven out
of ten. The only one that was
20:14 - 20:18
way off was a review from The
Guardian, gave it one out of
20:18 - 20:21
five stars and that reviewer
simply hated that 50 Cents
20:21 - 20:25
music was so violent he ended
up saying in the review The
20:25 - 20:29
Massacre sounds like the work
of someone from whom music is
20:29 - 20:33
merely a sideline a distraction
from the serious business of
20:33 - 20:37
perpetrating a violent ghoulish
sideshow other than that crazy
20:37 - 20:41
review most critics and fans
actually really enjoyed the
20:41 - 20:45
album The Massacre ended up
producing two more singles
20:45 - 20:48
after its release Interscope
pushed the Just A Little Bit
20:48 - 20:52
Song as the third single on May
seventeenth two thousand and
20:52 - 20:55
five and this song blew up as
well and it peaked at number
20:55 - 20:58
three on the Billboard Hot one
hundred. A couple months later
20:58 - 21:01
after its initial release on
March third, 50 Cent and
21:01 - 21:05
Interscope Records decided to
re release the album and call
21:05 - 21:09
it the Massacre Special Edition
and in this version, 50 Cent
21:09 - 21:12
ended up shooting a music video
for every single track off the
21:12 - 21:16
album and this was the first
time this was ever done by any
21:16 - 21:19
artist. On top of that, he
decided to use Out of Control
21:19 - 21:23
and remix it and feature Mob
Deep on the track and used that
21:23 - 21:27
as the lead single for this re
release. Unfortunately, because
21:27 - 21:30
the game ended up leaving G
unit, they could not put the
21:30 - 21:34
hitter or love it remix on this
version and it was rumored that
21:34 - 21:37
the game was supposed to be on
the out of control remix
21:37 - 21:40
alongside Lloyd Banks, Mob
Deep, Tony Ao and everybody
21:40 - 21:43
else in G unit but that never
ended up happening. In the
21:43 - 21:47
first year of the Massacre's
release, it ended up selling 4
21:47 - 21:50
million copies worldwide and as
of today worldwide this album
21:50 - 21:56
has sold over 11 million copies
and as of February 24th, 2020
21:56 - 22:00
RIAA announced that the album
has gone six times platinum
22:00 - 22:04
which means it has sold 6
million copies in America with
22:04 - 22:08
the huge success of 50 Cents
the Massacre in 2550 of course
22:08 - 22:13
was nominated for quite a few
awards in 2006 the American
22:13 - 22:16
Music Awards now nominated him
for the favorite rap hip hop
22:16 - 22:21
album The Massacre and he won
Ascap Awards gave him the
22:21 - 22:26
songwriter of the year in 2006
for writing songs Candy Shop
22:26 - 22:30
Disco Inferno Hater Love It How
We Do in just a little bit he
22:30 - 22:33
also won album of the year for
the Massacre at the Billboard
22:33 - 22:36
Music Awards and that's it for
the making of 50 Cents the
