In this video, we're talking about password managers, and we're going to be taking a look at a couple

of them.

We have Keypad Sexy, which can be found a key pass XY that org.

We also have keypads, which is a kind of a fork of the keypad software.

You can find a keypad stunt info.

And the thing I like about these two are their open source.

They're free.

The information isn't stored on someone else's computer or on a cloud server.

It's actually stored on my local machine or a USB drive or wherever I choose to keep it.

And before we get to the other solutions, you do want to make sure that you have a password manager

for a couple of reasons.

One, as we start getting into more sock puppets, a password manager is going to help keep all that

organized.

Also, you're going to be able to keep your password safe and you should be using this for not only

for your own investigations, but for your personal and business life too.

Because password managers are a great way to keep your logins, your hopefully complex passwords and

matter of fact, you can make your passwords so complex you only need to remember with a password manager

because a password manager will populate your username and password for you.

Now, we know the great thing about password managers are that if someone installs a key logger on your

computer, keyloggers have a hard time picking up the username and password inputs, basically from

a password manager because essentially you're not typing out your username and passwords.

And the key loggers have a hard time picking up on that, so that's another great feature for a password

manager.

Now we're getting these two options are going to be for, well, offline.

Essentially, it's going to be on your computer is going to be on your USB drive.

You could technically upload to like Google Drive or OneDrive if you want.

Another solution is LastPass, and LastPass is a pretty good option.

There's a personal and business one.

You're generally going to have to pay for for the more advanced features, a nice thing about this is

it kind of syncs between your computer, your phone and whatnot.

And we have hardware solutions seems like a only key is capable of not only two factor authentication,

which I hope all your accounts that do support two factor has it on, but you also could store username

and password system just like any other password manager.

And finally, we have beam you, which is a pretty interesting solution.

It's a credit card sized device.

It has a password manager.

It has two factor authentication, and it has some sort of secure storage on there, too.

So that could be pretty handy for for your own specifications also and your overall security.

However, this one is probably going to be the most expensive out of the rest of them.

I think this runs for about $100, which for what it does.

It's not too bad, in my opinion.

But again, if you want something kind of play around with their free, there is keypads and my personal

preference between the two is KeePass and ICSI seems to be a little bit better supported.

So we have a windows installed.

You can also get for Mac.

So once you have an install, it's going to look a lot like this.

You are going to open this here and we have a database, but let me create another one.

If I got a database, I could do new database and I can type in whatever it's going to be this type

of test, and I'm just going to put down and test for description and hit continue.

And then here we have you can adjust your database encryption settings to where you can change them

later.

Decryption time the database format recommended is the KBE answer CD PBX four or you could do the three

one.

I'm just going to leave by default.

Click Continue and you want to put a good password for your password manager.

Having a poor password doesn't tell you a lot of good if somehow your password manager gets compromised

and you have a really weak password.

This is the one password you want to make sure is pretty strong in that, you remember.

So let me take one in real quick.

And typing it again and click done.

And we're going to save the password database here.

OK, so now we have our password manager open here.

And if I right click in here, you could do a new group, I could type innocent.

OK.

And I could do another one right click and tape and say sock puppets.

OK.

And there we go.

So once I'm in here, I can click on the plus here and we can start entering in our information so I

could type in sock puppet for Facebook and my username and type in John Lee password.

Wherever your password is, you'd forget, forget it.

You can click on this little eyeball here to toggle it, or you can click the little dice here to generate

a password.

And we could we could set the password on entropy.

Here we can do passphrases and we could do that.

And this is going to be the password.

So that's a really long password.

But don't worry.

Again, we're using a password manager, so it's going to remember all this and we could type in the

URL that applies to.

H, t t p s rather.

OK.

And we can put an expiration date for that password in notes.

I love the fact that it has notes in here so I could put down sock puppet on Facebook.

E-mail is Sage, Gmail

and we could do.

And whatever information you want.

OK, so they get really handy to be able to put all this different information in for.

Whatever outside, pop, it's going to be, so once this is complete, I'm in, click OK and we can

see that.

Under O.S., I have sock puppet for Facebook.

It's got the URL in here, it has my notes.

Last time it was modified, if I click on this URL, it'll go to Facebook.

OK, so once you have your site up, you can simply just go in here.

We could right click this here copy username.

We could paste it in here, and you can see John Legere populate it there.

And if we do a password, you're right.

Click this.

You can do copy password and it's going to type in that really long password.

That that it came up with, so password manager is really great, and I do recommend and again, there's

a lot of solutions out there.

There's hardware based or software based and there's cloud based solutions.

But no matter which one you go with.

Do your research.

Make sure it's going to comply with whatever safety you need and absolutely use a password manager for

everything.
