So in this exercise, we're going to move from the amount owed to the monochord accord with the left

hand.

And we're going to play the fifth string bass pattern with the thumb on the Amarcord and then the six

string bass pattern with the thumb on the monochord.

So it's a sound like this

once more.

So we're doing five, four, six, four, repeating that five, four, six, four, six, four, five,

four, repeating that.

Four, five, four.

So.

There's just eight notes here.

We have a repeating phrase

and then another eight notes in this repeating phrase, five, four, six, four, five, four, six,

four, six, four, five, four.

OK, and you might notice on my left hand, I kind of pulse on the chords a little bit.

That's just a habit of mine.

And I like the way that feels, but it's not necessary.

You can just hold those chords down and aim to just get the thumb to really play that those bass notes

with consistency and with good feel.

And I encourage you to use a metronome to lock you in to the groove if you want.

But I'll just do it once more and you can play along with me.
