- Next, he's been crafting

since he was in diapers,

and he could bedazzle

He's Brodie.

- I would say that
- I am one of the best crafters

in a world full of Cheerios.

- I am very excited.

and a lot of crafting.

I just love her channel.

- We have three experienced

judges with us today.

We have a miniature specialist.

- This Quick Craft Challenge

is a confection reinvention.

We want you to reimagine basic

bakery goodies and dishes

that look absolutely nothing

like the ingredients

that you're gonna start with.

You'll also have to incorporate

light and fluffy marshmallows.

- Oh, my goodness!
- [laughter]

- They're like... I've eaten
- a whole bag of them.

- I've eaten more

than I should,

- but I've ate...
- [laughter]

- Oh, and to add one more thing

to your shopping list,

hiding somewhere in here

is the prize panda.

- If you find
- that sparkly little guy,

You are going to win

something so big,

so exciting,

so Rosanna-ish,

he'll give you every baking set

and decoration kit

that Rosanna has ever created.

- I'm so excited.

Craftopia has everything.

- I need to turn a normal

grocery story item

into something new

and different and cool.

- Oh, wait.
- I need the food coloring.

I want to turn marshmallows

into sushi

with a salmon roll,

rice, soy sauce,

and fish egg.

- Yes, marshmallows.

Try a marshmallow.

My secret weapon

is my improvising skills.

Improvising!

My idea is to make

two dinosaurs on the beach

with some palm trees,

and a little turtle

passing by.

Where is that panda?

- Ahh.

- Okay, found the donuts.
- Good.

I want to make

a ducky pool float.

Fondant to that yellow look,

the donut for the body,

- the marshmallows
- for the wings,

And Rice Krispies

for the head.

- [gasps] Excuse me.

[gasps]

[whistle blows]

I found the prize panda!

I found the prize panda!

- You got the prize?

Dang it.

- Tida, Oh, my God.

You just won so much

amazing stuff from Ro's line.

- Whoo!

- Oh, my gosh.
- What a way to start

- A challenge.
- Holy.

- So awesome!

- Can I borrow
- some of your fondant?

- Sure, of course you can.
- Thanks.

- What is fondant, exactly?

- It is a really thick icing.

- I don't need that much of it.
- Just maybe half.

- When I make fondant,
- I make marshmallow fondant.

It's just marshmallows,

powdered sugar, water.

- I microwave it
- for three minutes.

- And it holds texture
- and all that stuff?

- Yeah.
- It comes like Play-Doh.

- Okay.

All right, it's sushi time.

- So what about Tida?

She's got a stack of donuts.

- Yo, Iris,
- how you doing over there?

- Good. How are you?

- Panicking, but good.

- [laughs]

- Right now,
- I'm making the mother dinosaur,

And I'm just, like, making

the right color for the legs

'cause she needs legs.

What is she gonna be doing?

Just rolling around?

Brodie, what are you doing?

- I am going to make
- a duck float

- Out of the materials
- that I have here.

- A duck?

- Ducks are... cool.

- [duck quacking]
- We just do that.

It's a good head.

- Okay,
- I need to cut out the wings.

- Here I go.
- Cutting out the marshmallows

Right there.

- Pro tip
- for cutting marshmallows,

- Instead of trying
- to use a knife,

- You can actually run scissors
- under warm water,

And it will just

cut right through.

Oh, my gosh.

- Okay,
- so we've got marshmallows.

We've got Rice Krispie squares.

- We've got donuts
- and googly eyes.

- Walk me through it.
- It is a duck float.

- I'm gonna put
- some yellow fondant over it.

I chose the blue plate,

- because I want it to look like
- it is in a pool.

- I like desserts.
- Like, every time

- When we go to a restaurant,
- I would ask my mom,

- "Hey, can we get a dessert?"
- And the whole time,

- She would be like,
- "Ugh. Fine."

Okay.

So I feel very confident.

- We just passed

the 45-minute mark.

- Oh, wow, already?
- Oof.

- Oh, no.

- What if I just

cut out the green?

Ooh.

- Oh, we got a snacker!

We got a snacker in aisle two!

[laughs]

- I love sweets.

- I'm grabbing
- all of this candy,

Most it for me to eat,

but some of it for my craft.

♪ I'm making a bunch of sushi ♪

- ♪ Think it's gonna go
- super well ♪

- ♪ Maybe not,
- I don't know ♪

♪ But it's okay ♪

- Iris!

[gasps]

Oh, my gosh.

The way you use the sprinkles

as, like, actual rice pieces

is so good.

How did you get it to stick?

- So I have this edible...

- It's like edible glue?
- Adhesive. Yeah.

- Okay, great.
- It's like edible glue.

And it's really cool.

- What's been
- the hardest part so far?

- The fondant.
- Well, you got lots of things

- To snack on,
- give you some energy.

- Good luck.
- Thank you.

[upbeat music]

- Where'd my roller go?

Oh, no.

- So what are you worried about
- with this challenge?

- I am very worried
- with the technical stuff

- With the fondant.
- Look at poor Brodie.

He's trying to flatten it.

- Oh, my God.
- It's as big as he is.

- It... yeah.

- Brodie,
- break off a small piece.

It is taking all of my energy

not to jump over the table

and go help him,

- because I want to be like,
- "Take a small piece,

- Roll it with your hands,
- get it heated"...

- [exhaling]
- Heat that baby up.

And then just roll it out.

- Okay.

- Whoa, there's black fondant
- all over my hands.

Just gotta roll this out.

- Feel like the fondant

has been a really big struggle

for both Tida and Brodie.

- They're having issues
- with thickness.

- They're having
- issues with cracking.

- And put the smile on.

Oh, that's adorable.

- Is that a marshmallow?
- Mm-hmm.

- Okay.
- [laughs]

- I just... so many years
- of playing chubby bunny.

- Chubby bunny.
- I'm a pro.

- Okay, spit them out.

I lose.

- Time is half-way up,

craft-testants.

- [groans]

- Oh, my gosh.

Tida, these look so cute.

- What's the plan
- with the marshmallows?

- I'm gonna make them
- into marshmallow palm trees.

- Okay, and is that
- the finishing touch?

- Yeah, 'cause they're gonna be
- on the beach.

They should have some trees,

some sand.

And then, yeah.

- So here's our glue.

Use that to get the rice.

- Okay, so I'm going
- to roll out the fondant

Big enough

to put it over the duck.

- Fondant,
- it's a great material,

But it tears very easily.

It is hard to fix

once a tear happens.

- Oh, jeez.

Oh, my goodness.

Now all we need to do

is mold it around the duck.

- Cookies, cookies, cookies.

- Bright idea.
- I'm gonna take

Delicious cookies and turn them

into delicious sand

for my dino island.

- 15 minutes to go.

[upbeat music]

- [groans]

It's being poopy right now.

- Oh, God.
- What's happening over there?

- It's folding.

Oh, jeez.

Big problem.

Fondant is breaking.

This fondant

is not cooperating at all.

I don't want it to look like

a volcano just erupted.

[groans]

- Last ten minutes

is the finishing stretch.

- This is freaking me out.

- It looks like Brodie

is starting over.

- So now I'm having to restart
- with my fondant.

And I'm also having to restart

with, like, my shape.

I'm gonna try and work

really fast.

- Oh, no.

- So we have our little tail.

That's looking cute.

- Iris, yours looks great.

- Thank you.

So I'm gonna scrape

the filling out.

- She is using the stuffing

from the Oreos

as wasabi as a detail.

- Perfect.

- Oh, dear.
- Um...

Mayday, mayday.

A palm tree's down.

Repeat, palm tree's down.

- My palm tree's not going...
- [groans]

- Doing well.
- That's super cute, Tida.

- The palm trees
- are falling over because

They're marshmallow

on marshmallow

on marshmallow, right?

And it doesn't have a lot

of structural support.

- Yeah.

- You gotta be kidding me.

- Brodie, how you doing?

- I'm not doing so good,

actually.

- Neither am I.

- Two minutes on the clock,
- guys.

- Oh, no.

- Oh, so very scary.

- [groans]

I don't know what to do.

- Come on, head, just stay on
- for the next, like,

Ten minutes, please.

- This is so stressful.

We'll all use our stress balls.

- Stress balls.

- Oh, jeez.

- Okay, they're standing.

The marshmallow trees

were just not working out.

- Oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh,
- oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh.

- Ooh.

- Come on.

All: Ten, nine, eight,

seven, six, five,

- Crafting tools down,

and hands up, guys.

- Good job!
- [applause]

- Brodie, air high-five.

- Yep. Air high-five.

Just the deflated

floating duck.

Sometimes you just

gotta YOLO it, right?

You only live once, people.

And that duck has already

gone past its third life.

[duck quacks]

- All right, craft-testants,

you only had 60 minutes

and working with some

of the hardest materials

and had to incorporate

marshmallows.

Iris, do you want start us off?

- Yeah, sure.
- So I have

- My marshmallow sushi
- right here.

I used fondant,

white sprinkles for rice,

rainbow sour strips

to make cucumbers.

I have ginger and wasabi,

which is actually

the filling from mint Oreos.

I have soy sauce,

which is water with icing

food coloring that's brown.

Some jelly beans for, like,

the fish eggs.

- I love sushi so much.
- [laughter]

- Okay, well, I'm starving just
- by looking at your project.

It looks incredible.

- You used all the materials,

and you totally reinvented them

from candy and desserts

into a delectable-looking

sushi dish,

- so well done.
- Thank you.

- Tida,
- do you want to walk us through

Your little Kauai dinosaurs?

- Yes, this is Dino Island.

I have a mother dinosaur

and a baby dinosaur on a beach,

- with a little turtle
- walking by.

I crushed up some cookies,

and made it into the sand.

A glazed donut hole

and then a cake donut

for the mom.

- Great. And, Tida, where are
- the marshmallows, exactly?

- I used marshmallows

to make it look like

fallen down palm trees.

- I would've liked
- to have seen the marshmallow

- Incorporated a little bit more
- in the dinosaur,

- Like an opportunity
- would've been the spikes.

There were pink marshmallows.

- You've cut them and put them
- going down the back.

However,

making a diorama was amazing,

- and your fondant work
- is very, very clean.

- Thank you.
- And, Brodie,

- Do you want to walk us
- through your duck floaty?

- Okay, so this is Mr. Robert,

the deformed duck.

[laughter]

He is floating in a pool.

I think someone forgot

to blow him up all the way,

so he's just kind of, like,

sitting there.

Halfway through it,

the fondant kind of broke

and just started falling apart,

so I YOLO'd it and put a bunch

of fondant all over him,

- and I didn't really have time
- to finish it.

- I love the story

of Mr. Robert.

I think it's a very modern idea

to make a pool floaty

out of donuts and marshmallows,

so I love everything about it.

Fondant is such

a tricky material.

- I didn't work with fondant
- till... what was I?

- In my twenties?
- So I was like...

- [gasps]
- "I'm so nervous for you guys,"

But they look 100 times better

than what I created.

- Thank you.

- I created a monster.

- [duck quacking]
- [laughter]

- Craft-testants,
- you have truly made all of us

So proud here at "Craftopia,"

but unfortunately,

only two craft-testants

can move on

to the Craft Master Challenge

to win $5,000.

- I think our favorite is...

Iris and her sushi.

Those are amazing.

- Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Judges love sushi, I guess.

- Tida, Brodie, only one person

can move on to the challenge,

but you're both so creative,

and I am so proud of you.

with the fondant.

I think me and fondant

very unique plushie.

It can be whatever you want.

It just has to be

at least three feet tall.

- [gasps]
- Oh, and we're only give you

Two hours to get it all done.

A three-foot-tall stuffie.

about making a watermelon.

Really soft and comfy.

- I'm gonna add the seeds,
- the rind.

I think I'm gonna put a little

pupil in the eye.

- It's gonna be a cute

I gave sushi earlier

to the judges,

so I feel like

I am sending a message

that I am a giant foodie.

- Wait,
- is this the right stitches?

I have never made

a stuffed animal

or anything this big.

- But I feel like
- I got it in the bag.

- Oh, stuffing.

Definitely need jean.

I'm gonna need hair,

- 'cause I'm gonna make
- a mini version of me,

But a bear.

It's gonna be a Tida bear.

I'm planning on making

a jean vest like mine,

a skirt like mine,

and then a shirt like mine.

A pro crafting tip

for making plushies,

if you want to use hot glue,

you can do your seams,

- and then leave
- a little spot open,

- Flip it inside out,
- stuff it,

And close that little seam up

on the outside.

- There we go.
- Look, she's flipping it.

- Tida, my girl.
- She's flipping it.

- Mm-hmm.

- It's gonna be awesome.

- Yeah.

- Usually, on a hot summer day,

I'm gonna do the face.

No, I don't.

Where is it?

You gotta be kidding me.

I need black felt

for the eyes and the mouth.

Iris,

where'd you find the black?

- Black?

- Uh-oh.

Iris has all the black felt

- [exhales]

- I hope she's feeling

- Yes.

the face and the seeds.

I am so stressed.

- I want to make bows,

but I don't have enough time.

I need to go

into super-sport crafting mode.

- I really hope Tida has time.

is off the charts.

- Iris,

This is Melanie the watermelon.

She's a little cross-eyed.

[laughter]

- Iris,

your project is so sweet!

- Literally.
- Thank you.

- I know, right?
- [laughter]

- You used the glue technique,

which created a little bit

of looseness at the seams.

I can see a little bit of red

- where it should
- possibly be green.

But I think your creativity

was awesome.

- Thank you.
- You chose to make a bite.

- Unfortunately,
- I feel like the execution

Was a little bit sloppy,

- and I wished it looked
- a little bit cleaner

And more like a bite mark.

- I will say, though,
- I think the little

Pinking shear elements

was a really, really smart

- use of the material,
- so well done.

- Okay, I also love

that you did a wedge shape.

It is trickier

than one would think.

I love everything about it.

- Thank you.

- Do you want to walk us
- through your Tida bear?

- Yes, so I used jean material

for the jean vest

and the jean skirt,

and then I made her

some little bows

- with the same material
- as a shirt,

And I also made my own.

- Oh, my gosh.

- Where's mine?

- I don't know.

[laughter]

- I will say,
- I am obsessed with the fact

That you made clothes.

I think it's so cute,

and it's so smart.

- I do wish you had paid
- a little bit more

- Attention to the details,
- though.

I feel like the denim material

was kind of roughly cut.

- But I have gone to stores,

and I have purposely bought

clothes that are shredded,

- so I think
- it's totally awesome.

Plus, you totally matched

your sleeves.

Your sleeves are shredded,

your plushie's shredded.

- You have stuff
- all the way around.

- You got the little
- details on the back.

I think she did a good job.

- Tida, one of the things

that just jumps out

to me right away is the hair.

It's called chenille.

- That's the type of yarn it is.
- Oh.

- And it's gorgeous.

Perfect for curly hair.

- That blew me away.
