accident in space history -

the tragic explosion
of the Shuttle Challenger

just a minute after launch.

All seven astronauts
aboard the Shuttle

are believed to have perished
in the disaster.

The mission attracted
special attention

because it involved
the first civilian sent to space -

schoolteacher and mother of two
