In the early 17th century,

certain Protestant sects,
fleeing religious persecution,

left their native England

to found colonies in North America.

The most powerful of these colonies,
Massachusetts,

was also the most intolerant,
fanatical.

This film relates a true story

that took place in Salem,
Massachusetts, in 1692.
