about my brother's surgery this morning.

The surgery we just completed
was pretty aggressive.

conclusion that we would need

to remove both testicles
during the procedure.

Once we got inside and saw
the extent of the spread,

we realized we would
need to go a lot further.

Ultimately we were forced to remove

the scrotum along with the testes

and there was a significant mass near

the base of the penis,
which we removed as well.

- Holy shit, so you cut all of it off?

- No, no, no.

It turned out a complete
penectomy wasn't necessary

but there was much more
significant spread of the cancer

in lymph nodes in his
lower abdomen and thighs.

We were able to excise the
majority of the affected nodes

but the inner thigh is dangerously close

to the femoral artery,
so we were reluctant

to go there during this
particular procedure.

- Okay, okay, but overall
long-term, how does it look?

- In all honesty, this
is the most aggressive

choriocarcinoma I've personally ever seen.

- But you got it all, right?

People don't die from this, do they?

- Today's surgery went well.

But this type of cancer
spreads fast and we're

already seeing signs that
it has made it to his lungs

and if it gets a hold
there, it'll be in his brain

as well and there isn't
much we can do to stop it.

He'll need at least one more procedure

and some pretty aggressive
chemotherapy but understand,

we came to this party
way too late, Jeffrey.

- So you're telling me that
my little brother is dying

and you're just gonna
give up on him like this?
